This might be too complex to explain to a kid, but try to teach him about how proper punches are thrown.

That is to say, explain to him that the real kinetic energy behind a punch originates in the legs and in the hips.

This way he'll understand how to generate good power.

Make him learn the fundamentals first. No special cool looking spectacular stuff. Make him learn the straight boxing 101 fundamentals.

That's all you really should be focusing on right now.

                  1) It's easier to stay in shape than to get in shape.

                  2) Watch TONS of tape. Knowledge and ring smarts is key

                  3) Fundamentals; hands up, stiff jab, head movement

Those three things will get you 80% there

Who the **** are you to tell another man how to raise his own kid? You have no right to tell him how to raise his own kid. The only pathetic person who posted in this thread is you with your bull****.

How do you know his son doesn't like boxing and wants to do this?

Boxing will teach him discipline, responsibility, hard work, dedication, he won't get his ass kicked, etc.

It's not like Larry is forcing his kid to be a boxer.

Teach him the very basics and make sure he's enjoying boxing. Don't force him to keep going if he doesn't want to.

Get someone who has experience training kids to help you out because you have no experience as a trainer especially training kids.
