"I'd say it's definitely accurate," remarked Sampson Lewkowicz, adviser of Sergio Martinez, when asked if the middleweight king was "Plan B" for Floyd Mayweather should negotiations fall through with Manny Pacquiao. Martinez, who currently holds titles in both the middleweight and jr. middleweight division, was recently stripped of his WBO middleweight title for failure to relinquish his WBC jr. middleweight title. According to Lewkowicz, Martinez has yet to make a decision on whether or not he plans on giving up the title because he's waiting on the decisions of others, namely Floyd Mayweather and HBO.

I don't think Floyd will win this match up. Martinez is too much for him.

Martinez still has the WBC strap and is also the Ring/Lineal champ....a title way more prestigious than a alphabet strap.

martinez's WBC title is at 154, not 160. floyd already got a 154 lbs strap. he needs the 160 lbs title.

Sergio makes alot of un-needed movements especially when he is out of punching range, this wears him down as the rounds progress, I've seen it happen in his last 3 fights, he was robbed three different ways in the Cintron fight but he also displayed the same characteristics in the following fights as well. He's not going to be able to shot the up-jab from the hip on Floyd and follow with the straight left, I see Floyd sweeping him with a lead left hook anytime he wants to. But I do agree it will be(if ever made) historic, because every advantage except ring IQ is in Sergio's corner.

martinez knockout ratio is deceiving even though he has a 48% knockout ratio, his last 16 wins have been 13 by KO/Stoppages
