And if he cant get in a groove, Floyd will eat him up. He's athletically gifted, but makes too many technical mistakes. His size, speed, and stance is what makes a match up with Floyd very intereging to me(these attributes make it a toss up for me 50/50). This is one fight that Floyd could loose and no one could say a ****tin a$$ thing about it.

i disagree with the bold....i think he has very good stamina........the technical mistakes part you are right.......his feet come together often which = easy knockdowns when he isn't even hurt........but he has speed (hand and foot) and is bigger.....these can help him overcome some technical shortcomings.....then again Floyd is the expert at exploiting shortcomings.......it's just a very very interesting and historic fight.......

As a fan of both Floyd and Pac, if Floyd decided to fight Martinez then I'll be impressed-simply because it will be the 2nd consecutive time that Floyd will outdo Pac in terms of competition. Floyd vs Mosley > Pac vs. Clottey & Floyd vs. Sergio > Pac vs. Margarito (unless for some miracle he fights Marquez then that's a no brainer ). Floyd is taking more risk for lesser reward. Plus I get to see 3 out of 4 of my favorite fighters fight! You guys can figure out who these 3 are lol.

Every dumb ass who says martinez has low stamina is basing this off what?

Him dodging 1200 punches from a HUGE Paul williams or him having to continuously move against a HUGE kelly pavlik?

          jesus christ.

And for those saying Martinez is too easy to hit, let's say Floyd does land flush on Sergio; Martinez will still be coming as that **** doesn't discourage him like it does a Mosley, Judah and others. Cintron at 154, Pavlik at 160 both hit harder than Floyd and were landing solid shots on Sergio and he still kept coming. Some of you guys think........Fighter A gets hit too easy, Floyd will UD him, or Fighter B isn't smarter than Floyd, Floyd will dominate him. Boxing doesn't work like that and you will find out first hand if Floyd ever gets in the ring with Sergio (something I highly doubt for obvious reasons).
One thing I think you're missing though Top Rank is the fact that Floyd doesn't have to hurt you to discourage you. It seems Floyd's main aim is to cleanly score on you with a clear cut punch, and this is what brings him joy in the ring. Not necessarily hurting you but completely out-classing you and making you look like a idiot is Floyd's MO. With that being said it wont matter to Floyd if he hurts Sergio, unlike individuals such as Shane, Margo, and Miguel. These fighters that I mentioned are the type of fighters that can be discouraged if they can't hurt you, and it ultimately becomes the huge ***** in their armor so to speak. Floyd opperates without that aspect(Hurting a fighter), and therefore doesn't rely on it as the other fighters do.

Huh? I always thought he had good, if not great Stamina? Dude is/was a soccer player and a cyclist!

He also took that fight on short notice as well. Martinez is a cyclist and has world class stamina. Again, I have seen him fight several times and I have never seen him remotely close to being fatigue like he was in the Williams fight. Again I think that was 100% due to him not being in optimal shape due to him taken the fight on short notice.

Honestly, what will Floyd do to discourage Sergio from fighting his type of fight?
