If they wernt so god damn close minded they would have twice the entertainment and wouldn't have to wait months at a time to watch a good fight. They would have both boxing and MMA matches to watch.

to be fair, MMA fighters are simply not good at standup fighting...its not their thing. their full repertoire is what makes them successful.

but man, its still pretty bad when a televised professional fighter is beaten by some guy off the streets.

Ugh you do know that Kick Boxing and Mu Thai are also other forms of striking that is used in the UFC right??

It common sense that a boxer is gonna be better with their hands but a lot of these UFC guys are gonna be way better strikers with Kicks, and Elbows so it evens out.

There is actually one guy in the UFC his name is Antonio Rogerio Noguera who won a gold medal in the South American games a few years ago. He's actually a decorated amature boxer and if he has trouble with a lot of these wrestler ju jitsu guys when standing up with them.

first round knockouts at the top level in MMGAY happen on a regular basis.

Most knockouts at the top level in boxing are usually through an accumulation of blows.

a superman punch is when someone fakes a knee (whilst jumping) to try and make the opponent put their hands down, when successful is followed by a punch.

but i agree, it is practically ineffective.
it only really works against those who have bad footwork.

even with kicks and elbows and so and so, most mma guys are still not good strikers.

sure, youll get the odd really good striker in mma every once in a while when they come from kickboxing backgrounds...but the majority of them are still pretty substandard.

its not as simple as 'they have more tools, that means thats an advantage'. those tools have their weaknesses too. kicks in particular leave you very open, and I have seen people KOed in one shot because they left themselves open after a leg kick. you dont see boxers ever get hurt by an average guy, because boxing is all about being used to quick shots and defense.
Im always amazed that a fat version of Frans Botha has actually held his own in K-1, and that a journeyman boxer Virgil Kalakoda was able to almost beat Buakaw.

anyways, Im getting off topic and will just say 'Each should stick to their own sport, otherwise its a waste of talent'.

I don't even need to make fun of MMgay anymore because it owns itself every show lol. And the pathetic tards like pistol defend it, just like the WWE lovers that still think wrestling is real.

And yes boxers get knocked out, the difference is the punches they get knocked out by are actually hard and thrown by a professional athlete. In mmgay they get knocked out by redneck wrestlers with no power.

when Bj Penn (the best boxer in mma, but a ****ty boxer by boxing standards) fought kenny florian, florian tried to do a superman punch on him...

the result was that BJ easily side stepped the corny, ineffective move and landed a huge punch on florian while he was in mid air...i think it was a counter left hook or something..just goes to show how corny and pathetic mma is. when faced with a decent boxer, they get countered and tooled and their puny moves are rendered useless.

mmgay = the only sport besides wwe where the participants make up "finishing moves" such as superman punches, spinning back fists, and rolling thunder, forward flip leg kicks :gay:
