I do not believe that Khan will fight Maidana next.
Not because he's scared, or any of that other childish bull****.
They are setting up a JMM / Khan fight for later in the year.
Khan will fight Maidana, and whoever else, when the time is right..... just like any other fighter would.Comment

No, that fight was Khan's US debut.
It was great match-making on the part of Team Khan.
They are squeezing in a quick stay-busy fight before Ramadan.
Khan will continually fight tougher opposition as he progresses, just like any other fighter.Comment

see i would agree with you, but then why did Marquez fight Mayweather at 144? someone who is WAY more deadlier then Khan. Surely 4 lbs lighter against a weaker opponent wouldve made it easier for Juan Manuel.he refused because nacho thought he was being used, anyways, why should he? i mean khan is a big jr welter, jmm is a small lightweight to me...khan should be embarrased, there are other fighters at jr welter, who are natural jr welters who could qualify as a "stay busy" fight, alvarado, mabuza, matthysee,Comment

I hope this does go on the Diaz-Marquez PPV. If so, this PPV could be very well worth the money.Comment

I just see this fight for what it is.
When you say " khan hasnt prove to me he belongs at the top yet " .....
of course not, he made his US debut less than 3 weeks ago against Paulie.
And this fight does not even count as a genuine 140lb contest imo. Should Casa get beaten by Khan, which he will, how negatively will it impact on his legacy? It will have no negative impact on his legacy at all, because he is past his prime and fighting outside his career-long division.
So, if a loss does not negatively effect Casa's legacy, should a win against Casa enhance Khan's? No way, of course not. He get's no credit at all, it's just a stay-busy fight.
It is EXACTLY what the Mayweather/Marquez fight was, it rates slightly higher than an exhibition match between two opponents that under normal circumstances would have no reason at all to fight each other.
Casa gets a payday - Khan gets a stay busy fight against an opponent who will not seriously trouble him. Just like JMM got a payday - and May got a tune-up fight against an opponent who did not seriously trouble him.
It's a tune-up fight to stay busy, Team Khan just wanna squeeze one in before Ramadan so that Khan stays active.
I think that they will try to fight JMM next, then Maidana - if he is still in the mix at that stage, and then progress from there. They have time, so they will use it.Comment
