Joel Casamayor is a very good test for Amir Khan

khan has a world championship belt around his waist. forget a "stay-busy" fight. forget a "good test".

how ironic how focused khan was on this maidana issue or pulling someone up from a lower weight when a fight with devon alexander was still on the table. now, devon signs to fight dang near the only name that was willing to step in with him and khan finds the ghost of casamayor.

if roach has input, this is what he does, but we, as fans, should demand more from our fighters. forget a good test. casamayor has done NOTHING to earn a title shot at 140. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. he got knocked out in his last major fight so that does get you in the ring with a fighter from the wild card but let's say that this guy does catch khan by some miracle...who did he beat to even get the opportunity to throw that lucky punch?

Then he comes out of nowhere and upsets Michael Katsidis, knocking him around left and right. I'm not saying that Casamayor will win but this could get interesting.

Casa is a world class southpaw. Amir has never faced a world class southpaw before. Casa is a very crafted one. Yes, he is past his prime but he has only lost from the very best like Freitas, Corales, Castillo and JMM.

i have a feeling you didn't really see that fight. katsidis really just seemed to be having problems with the southpaw punch angles, which led to him getting caught by several punches he didn't see. katsidis started beating him terribly and then went wolverine, just without the adamantium skull, and paid for it.

i wouldn't call that an example of getting knocked "around left and right".

I never liked Casa because of his akward fighting style. I know he is past his prime but this is nonetheless a good test for Khan giving the short time to prepare Khan for this keep busy fight on July 31.

And I did not see his last fight but I did saw his fight against JMM and he did very well there.

I think you should consider watching it. Jmm-Casa IMO might be the last time we see a formidable Casa. I don't like this fight at all.

I saw the fight, maybe the terminology wasn't specific enough for you but by "knocked around left and right" I meant Casamayor doing something he hasn't done in years to a world class fighter, and that's put him down Floyd/Hatton-esque unexpected.
