You call out Maidana for July,, a top 3 jr. welter dangerous opponent, but you won't face a urango, holt, peterson, Prescott, or even a top 15 jr. welter, but instead we end up with a shot to pieces Casamoyor...This only proves more that you were never serious about fighting Maidana or that you knew he was really hurt, that's why you called him out....

Well the main difference between Salita and Abregu is that Bradley has to move up and Salita has litte to no power whereas Abregu appears to be a decent puncher. Although sure, it might well go the same way. Casamayor will be there for the cheque though.

Seriously I think people over-estimate Khans intelligence and make him out to be some kind of cold, calculating, sinister and cunning person, He is not a very intelligent person. He is fighting the people his promotors put infront of him.
You have hit the nail on the head with that post. Khan is fighting the people his promoters put in front of him. And they will be either smaller fighters, washed up names or both. GBP know Khan has a chin made of glass. They want to make money out of him and will protect him better than Fort Knox. You do the math.

          Amir-Khan-lines-up-Cuban-Joel-Casamayor

AMIR KHAN has offered Cuban Joel Casamayor £400,000 to fight him at London's O2 on July 31.

The WBA light-welterweight champ wants his third defence before he goes on his religious fast for Ramadan.

Casamayor, 38, went top of Khan's list after Marcos Maidana and Michael Katsidis both pulled out.

Khan, 23, said: "It's about getting the timing right. I'll fight anyone but a lot of guys are busy."

Casamayor will take this fight in a heartbeat! No-way will he turned down £400,000! Casa will really fancy his chances of beating Khan aswell given his experience.

          400 000 British pounds = 586 480 U.S. dollars

Thats what a Khan opponent makes. Who said he wasnt the cash cow at 140lbs again?

            .
This is the key point. Khan is fighting for the 2nd time in a couple of months when he doesnt have to.

Half the top guys are unavailable and others arent going to take Khan at such short notice.

Shameful, why is he being protected like this? And I like the guy (not the man, but the fighter) but it's kind of hard to be a fan of someone like this....smh

That's spoon feeding...and Khan is all talk we all knew he didn't want to fight Maidana...he's trying to make it seem like he's ducking no one...what a scam...a fraud...I never heard of anyone paying their mandatories off for three fights...that's ******ed...
Didnt Ortiz get to fight Maidana for the interim-belt in Ortiz backyard Staples center as a headliner? I know he from Kansas, But De La Hoya did EVERYTHING so that Ortiz would win. Ortiz just started to brawl with Maidana instead of boxing and moving.

Also its not Khans fault Warren paid more than Goldenboy for Khan-Kotelnik. Warren at the time didnt have any world champions and wanted Khan to get a belt.

This is ridiculous! He pretends to wanna fight a guy he KNOWS is still hurt then he chooses between 2 135lbers??? Give me a break. You got Tim Bradley, Devon Alexander, Kendal Holt, Ricardo Torres, and a few other fighters at 140 to fight and he's looking at 135lbers? The guy has good skills but you can't protect that chin forever.

Timothy Bradley/Alexander are out of the question for July 31st, Not enough time for any of them to prepare, train, promote such a big unification bout. So that eliminates them.

Kendall Holt is shot to bits, Seen his last fight? Ricardo Torres would have been a good fight, I even made a thread about it, But Torres is retired and cant make 140lbs now.

This is a stay-busy/tune-up fight. Calm down.
