Amir Khan V Joel Casamayor: All Most A Done Deal

Amir Khan lining up July clash against Cuban veteran Joel Casamayor

Amir Khan has switched his attention to a summer showdown against Joel Casamayor.

The Cuban, 38, is set to challenge the WBA light-welterweight champion at London’s O2 Arena on July 31.

Khan, 23, wanted to fight mandatory contender Marcos Maidana, but the Argentinian has a back problem while Australian Michael Katsidis is reluctant to commit.

Enzo Maccarinelli faces a trip to Germany later this year to defend his European cruiserweight title against mandatory challenger Alexander Frenkel.

Question: Golden boy is an American promotor, They dont have the right to promote in the UK, So who will promote the fight in the UK? Frank Warren? Ricky Hatton?

Looks like its Joel Casamayor, I think its a good cross-roads/Keep busy fights. Dont underestimate an old fox like Casamayor, He beat Corrales and Katsidis. If Ortiz can fight a 38yr old Nate Campbell, Mayweather fight a 38yr old Mosley, Why can Khan fight a 38year old Casamayor in a keep busy fight with his world title on the line?

Lmao that says it all. Another washed up old name to pad his protected resume. It's pitiful.

        I read Kat's team.

They tried to say Khan didn't want it before Paulie, which possibly was so, but this fight now is a tune up rather than to go on HBO.

Why they talking JMM and Diaz?

Katsidis is the mandatory for the winner of JMM/Diaz bout. He doesnt want to fight Khan and miss out on his chance for the 135lb world title.

Team Katsidis priced themselve out. I cant hate on katsidis, he is a great warrior but he knew would get his ass whooped so he is taking his chances by going for the JMM-Diaz winner.

I'm not too fond about Casamayor. Casa is extremely boring to watch.

You should have made the poll with this option:

                  Who gives a ****?
