You should watch footage of Pirog at youtube. He is an outstanding boxer/ puncher. Has extremely sound defense and upper body movement. Brilliant footwork and a high workrate. As far as his opponents are concerned, they seem unknown to the casual fan, but the ones who take their time to study fighters can see that these mostly Russian opponents are really tough and tough to beat.

Jacobs has no resume, but remember that Martinez also didn't have a resume before he got HBO exposure, which just put him in the public eye.

So from my point of view the matchup Danny Jacobs and Dimitry Pirog is an excellent one.

      Fuck all the sanctioning bodies.

Martinez is the real champ that is all that matters. At MW all roads lead to the Maravilla.

Agreed. This is an example of why the belts are becoming meaningless.

It's ridiculous but atleast Martinez takes home more money than some corrupt body taking in a percentage of his earnings.

the same wbo that made cotto put his belt on the line for a catchweight fight with pacquiao. should have backed their title holder but chose to bow down to the cowboy without a hat, bob arum.

Martinez isn't worried about the wack organizations, his territory is in the ring...he knows he is the boss.

You can't be too successful in this sport. I hate the sanctioning bodies. If all the top fighters ignored them they'd shrivel up and die very quickly.
