Peter is easily top 5 material right now, there's no clear-cut champ, all of the belt holders are either injured, lazy, greedy, or a combo of the 3.....Peter will be fighting for the 3rd time in 7 months, all of the fights for short-$, and all 3 on national TV....sure, he fought C- fighters, but there are no A+ fighters, and the B-level guys aren't gonna risk a world ranking vs. a guy with Peter's punching power....I'd make him even-$ vs. Ruiz, Brewster, or even Byrd, only Quitali would be an odds-on favorie and who knows about his alleged missing spine, er, back injury.....

We don't have to call Peter "The Next Big Thing" but at least we ahve someone with the potential to be great, let's take him for what he's worth and enjoy the ride!

he would easily outbox peter, so long as he stays away from the big shots.
That's a bit like saying "Mike Tyson could be champion again so long as he can hit his opponents flush on the chin."

POWER is the ultimate equalizer though, and SS Sam is feather fisted....Peter has BIG KO POWER, you don't have to be quick when you punch like a monster, ask Big George!

i agree especially in the hw div in which you do not need alot of technical boxing skills the only true technical gifted boxers are toney and byrd everybody else might throw a jab and clinch for a half around so BIG power like peters is good enough to win right now the hw div. is pretty weak ..

i disagree, punchers always have problems with great ''boxers'' david tua was a big puncher, but he still failed, and even big george failed against good technical boxers like ali and of course jimmy young.

Ivan Calderon could KO Danny Williams, SS Sam doing it doesn't prove anything...

plus, dude, you root for JC Gomez, who got KO'd by a club fighter in the FIRST ROUND, so don't take any of your bright ideas to the sportsbook and lose your milk $

IMO he is a circus act that would get schooled by a legitimate top ten guy. Sure he has alot of powere, but he is so unpolished and sloppy with his defense right now. How many of those big ass punches that he throws actually land? In Taurus Sykes he is going up against another guy who can't punch a lick. Put him in there with another big puncher or a guy who can truly box for christ sake. I can smell another sham of a heavy being forced down our throats for sure.
This is the same critism Fomeman received before frazier. Granted he did win 40plus fights before getting ranked so high
