Why did Ali and Foreman only ever fight once?

Why was there never a re match?

Considering at the time there were all these big rivalries, he fought Frazier 3 times, Foreman fought Frazier twice.....

Is it because maybe under he right conditions and training George Foreman might have had a better chance?

Why did Ali vs Foreman II never happen??

ali was going to fight the winner of foreman-jimmy young and he did since jimmy young beated george foreman on a 15 round Unanimous decision...then after that fight george retired then came back in 1980s and ali fighted jimmy young and won

COntrary to what many believe Ali dominated Foreman, and Foreman went on to lose a few fights later and retire.

Yeah but you hear all these stories about how Ali was given state of the art equipment to train with and luxury lifestyle, and Foreman was given barley anything. I'm not making excuses for him, tis is just what has been said.

It's a valid question as Foreman was on a tear after for almost three years before losing to Jimmy Young.

Foreman wanted a rematch, that is true. He did beat Frazier badly after, and Ron Lyle.

I think the Jimmy Young thing screwed him up, but it's kind of surprising there wasn't more efforts to make it before then as it would have been a huge moneymaker.

Didn't Foreman accuse his trainer of putting drugs in his water bottle?

He said that was the reason he got tired.
