Now besides Mexican/Not-Mexican s.hit I agree with the majority of the people here. JCC was a fu.cking monster on his prime. For almost every Mexican he truly represents what Mexican boxing is all about. Pride, honor, relentless, pressure, stamina, tolerance to punishment, etc. The greates warrior from this land of plenty...
Now, as a person, that’s a different story; the guy is a ****-head. I feel embarrassed every time I hear him talking about boxing with the guys from TV Azteca. Guy’s is stubborn mo.tha.fu.cker , classless, and he’s always intoxicated while in open TV.Comment

Damn bro, calm down man....no need to get all angry and ****. You are a Mexican but your ethnicity is Hispanic or Latino whether you like it or not.A chingar tu madre pendejo, soy hecho y nacido en Mexico. I'm a real Mexican not a fuc.king "Pocho". Y hablo por Mexico porque soy parte de el pendejo, sangre azteca (de la verdadera, de la Mexica/Azteca) corre por mis venas, so get the f.uck out of here with that Hispanic s.hit.
****in pocho? Man you wish you were one bro.....I am very proud of being an American or a "pocho"

100% agreed the guy is a scumbag of the highest order but then again so is every boxer of his stature. If he was Mexicos Ali then he certainly rivaled Ali when it came to being a terriable human being.Comment

There's a long story behind it.... I stopped rooting for La Seleccion ever since I went to one of their games in DF and noticed how fans would treat other football fans from other countries... I ****ing hate the team and some of their fans and will never root for them

We'll that is your opinion of course. I agree that he is a prick. But it doesn't affect me much considering that usually don't mind a boxer personalities. Unless, they go racist or something or go on a killing spree, I don't mind.
As for dlh, I used to like dlh until he pulled that stunt on the last 4 rounds of the trinidad fight. IMO, I think that turned off a lot of people including mexicans as well.Comment

cmo bro no need to hate, Chavez was tight, give the man props, hes up there with all the greats, but look, Boxing aint no popularity contest, Chavez was the the deadliest Mofo when he was delivering them beatings. he might of had a bad attitude late in his career, but he gave alot to the sport of boxing, allured a massive ammount of fans to watch the sport even when he hanged up them gloves, anyone who can draw 130,000 should get at least a bit of respect, u giving him none is just foolish loc.Comment

Well said, and I also agree that DLH wasn't more skilled than Chavez. I don't get why people think that Chavez was just some sloth like brawler. He had actual talent and skill.I could careless about a fighter's personality outside the ring. But JCC the fighter was a flat out machine. The guy took on the best of his time and gave out hellacious beatings for the most part.
People can complain about the Whitaker fight, but that incident was dwarfed by the rest of the moments where Chavez just massacred people. And you don't do the things Chavez did by being a punching bag, he had subtle defense and that's all you need if you can ****. He really didn't have the time to be running and ducking for an entire fight. That would have been time wasted, considering his offense. In boxing I really don't think you have to be a Whitaker or a Floyd in the defensive department to be successful to begin with. Obviously a defensive minded fighter can cruise and box, take the W to the scorecards fairly easily, but fighters like Chavez aren't built for that. They're built to kill.
As for Oscar having more "skill" than him, I don't know about that. Oscar might have had more speed, but that's it really. Chavez came out showing his best in his big fights and Oscar kind of disappointed on a off and on basis. Just goes to show what skill really is. Chavez would break guys down properly. Oscar would get flustered occasionally, only to show some heart and go for the kill later in fights. Oscar chose to brawl a lot when I think his physique called for more of a Marquez approach to the sport. If Oscar was a counter puncher/boxer/brawler like Juan, I think Oscar would have had a lot more success. Oscar had the speed, reach, power/leverage to take his time in fights, instead of being left hook happy and frequent in the chest of his opponents.Comment
