Floyd's DEFENCE is WAY better than PERNELL WHITTAKERS!!!!

Both of their defense is as equally as great. Pernell's problem was that he would sometimes showboat and because of it he got dropped many times in his career, balance also had alot to do with it. Anyway when Whitaker got serious, you just couldn't hit the guy.

I have no idea how anyone can think Floyd's defence is better than Pea's. I'm not hating on you Dominicano, and I am a big fan of Floyd's, but I just cannot understand it. Particularly because I know you have seen all of Pernell's fights.

There is no way in hell Pea gets caught with that right hand say against Shane, no way in hell.

Lol, not even close. I'm a fan of both, but Pea was defensively better than Floyd no doubt.

Put it this way, ask yourself what a Pea-JLC fight would have looked like.

Pernell would have outclassed JLC, I agree there. But you also have to take into consideration that JLC was much bigger then Floyd. Had Mayweather gotten used to the LW division, Mayweather-JLC would have looked alot different.

Pernell would have outclassed JLC, I agree there. But you also have to take into consideration that JLC was much bigger then Floyd. Had Mayweather gotten used to the LW division, Mayweather-JLC would have looked alot different.

That first Buddy fight was just odd though. I swear Pernell almost fought to lose in that fight. I thought he just fought a really ****** fight.

The second fight was an absolute clinic.

Athletes are always getting better in every sport, always getting bigger, faster, stronger. Whoever the best is today is always better than whoever the best was 10, 20 years ago. Floyd is the greatest offensive and defensive boxer of all time. In 20 years, someone might come along who's better than Floyd, maybe his little nephew.

I scored that for Whitaker by 1 or 2 rounds if I remember correctly, but yeah Pea was asking for it in that fight. He redeemed himself in the second though, that might be my favourite Whitaker fight.
