But it really took away his confidence. Even though he put up good fights against De La Hoya and Mosley in the first fight. Vargas lost some of his mental strength I feel, Because Trinidad really put a beating on him.

All the tough fights (Wright, Quartey, Trinidad, De La Hoya) took a toll on Vargas, as well as the injuries. The Trinidad fight did the most damage of those..Vargas looked pretty bad in the Rivera fight and not so hot against Flores as well.
