"Muhammad and Larry"...It broke my heart. (VIDEOS)

Last night, I watched "Muhammad and Larry". It really saddened me, and I thought it was an exceptional doc, and an insightful reflection on the prelude to that fight.

How heartbreaking. Ali should have never been allowed to get in there.

It was soul-crushing to see Ali beaten that way, terrible to see Leonard being battered by Macho...and i hope a badly-faded mayweather doesn't get beat up by an Amir Khan.

I agree...although I don't think Floyd could ever get beaten up by Amir Khan...I think Khan would get beaten up before then by someone else...

      Is that what you mean?

I said "an" Amir Khan to indicate any young champion/contender who will be in his prime at the time Floyd is faded in 3-4 years.

i still lol whenever Larry says he tried to go easy on ali and didnt wanna hurt him

anyone who seen the fight knows that Larry went after him as if ali killed his entire family. i mean the dude put on a slaughterhouse beating on Ali.

im not mad at him or anything, he did what he had to, it just pisses me off when larry tries to downplay the whole thing just to help clear himself of the bad guy image.

Plus, Larry still talks **** now at times. When they had that doc about Ali & Frazier, he was on there saying how all Ali does is dance & run but Joe is a real man and a real fighter. I was shocked when he said that after he tried to say that he was sad about fighting Ali

Larry was basically asking the ref to intervene.

many years later, Zab Judah asked the ref to step in when he was finishing off Spinks. I chuckle at that still.

yep, he pretty much ****s on ali in every one of his interviews. saying anything from ali didnt have skills to how he would have whooped him just as easy if he was in his prime.

Holmes also is a big fan of Marciano as well.

What if i told you that Macho would beat up an embarrass a faded Ray Leonard. Would you have believed me?

                    Happens.
