Vitali will be seen as greater because of one common adversary....

    Sam Peter.

Sam Peter is the greatest fighter on both of their resume's but one brother struggled, while the other cruised to an easy victory.

wlad had a fresher in shape sam peter though. vitali has a better chin but wlad is a much better boxer and harder puncher

both pretty easily beat peter. a couple of those kds were behind the head iirc. i don't really consider that prime wlad anyway.

most agree vitali handily deals with wlad h2h, but wlad's the one who's been putting in the work at heavyweight while vitali was retired. by the time wlad retires i think he'll be a (mostly) consensus top 10 heavyweight. i wouldn't be surprised if he ran the show til he's 40. regardless of the competition, staying on top for that long is a strong statement that only guys in the history forum will ignore.

i'd also like to say sam's a totally underrated name on wlad's resume. an in shape peter is an iron chinned beast. his conditioning has let him down since then, but that man had potential. some of those punches he walked through against wlad could've rocked chuvalo.

Wlad is the better boxer and has beaten better boxers/more top 10 opponents.

i think Wlad is the better fighter, with the better skills with the better resume.

i also think that Wlad would win if they ever fought. yes, Vitali has a MUCH better chin, but he is to slow and wierd to beat Wlad IMO..

that being said, they are both excellent fighters and no disrespect to either of them

prime vitali was a sneaky dude with deceptive speed. he's not extremely athletic, but it's hard to see his right hand coming. i think he looks slower than he is since he fights so relaxed and tends to paw

Vitali could retire today and still have a better resume' than a Wladimir with 80 wins. Vitali dominated the fighters who knocked Wlad down(Peter,Sanders,Puritty). Byrd was the only opponent where Wladimir did better, but even then he was unable to knock him out(prime byrd).

Wladimir is champion of the worst era in the History of the sport. The amateur programs are almost non existent, gyms are closing down in the United states, and you have guys like Eddie Chambers who are smaller than a lot of 1940's heavyweights.

Vitali did better than Wlad in a superior era of boxing, so he is the clear winner in this sibling rivalry.
