Comments Thread For: Andre Berto May Be Targeting Khan, Bradley, Alexander

The welterweight division, regardless of the era, is usually swimming with talent and big name action. Every couple of years the division goes through a minor drought as new names are being established. Over the last two years, boxing's hottest weight division has been overrun by it's not so distant neighbor only seven pounds south, the junior welterweight division. [Click Here To Read More]

If Berto drops down in weight he'd be something like Gatti, weighing in at 140 and ballooning up to around 160.

I don't blame him. Pac & Manny wouldn't fight him anytime soon. if he can't get Mosley or Clottey then hell yeah go for the 2nd best thing and fight the best fights below you.

I think Berto should shed a few pounds get down to about 143 or 144 to try and get a fight with Devon Alexander because he is the most likely one to take the challenge because Khan will punk out and Bradley would to Berto vs Alexander that would one hell of a fight

While I don't think Bradley would punk out, I agree with everything else you said. Berto vs Alexander would be a heck of a fight. Maybe if Alexander won it would finally get Tim bradley to fight him

Nah, nothing like that, his last fight against Quintana he came in at 153.

Just to put it in perspective Ortiz for 140lb fights has come in at 154, so he is not really any bigger than the top guys there anyway.

Where did anyone get the notion that he was this big WW anyway? I always read about ppl referring to him as such.

I believe he has weighed close to 160 for one of his welterweight fights, I can't remember which one at the moment, so it could happen again. He's not really a big welterweight but he's strong, stocky. Similar to Arthur Abraham at 168.
