retake math 01 or talk to a 6th grader-----either or.
How do you calculate KO%?

Read the thread; the underlying maths wasn't the issue.Simple math to be honest...
If a guy is say 30-5 with 24 KOs, to get the percentage you'd have to add all the fights win or lose (in this case 35 fights) and divide 24 (which represents the total KOs) by 35 and you'll get a % that you'll need to round off (i.e 0.6857455934). In this case, a dude who's 30-5 with 24 KOs has a 69% KO ratio.
And you don't "round it off", you multiply by 100 because the first stage only calculates one percentile, and you need 100 of them.Comment

I go by fights won because if you lost that to me is really more indicative of the other guys stats and not so much how much power you have or ability you have to ko opponents.Comment

You will be surprised of the people that just dont get it....:AOR:Simple math to be honest...

when asked in this thread how to Calculate % some people said that opposition had to taken in consideration...:AYWOoD: While comparing KO% these brains added this.....lmfao
MY responce...to the compared %Floyds hands are like a guitar player not for punching heads , its the reason he has developed into one of historys greatest technical fighters , you use and refine what you have , lots of guys punch hard and get knocked out cold or made to look like a fool .
interesting statistic in KO percentages .
Manny 62% , JMM 64% , Floyd 60% .
Manny has 61 fights
JMM has 62 fights
Floyd has 44 fights :WORD:
Not so interesting statistics in percentages when its based out of the number of fights you have. So add about 18 more fights to his number of KOs and his % will drastically go down...since you wanted to compare two almost identical fighters.:WORD:You are the dumb one PacBoy! Of course you have to include level of opposition when looking at someones KO percentage. Using your reasoning, Andre Berto has a higher KO percentage than them all, does that mean he would KO any of those guys? No!
It's easy to have knockouts when half your resume is a bunch of nobodies.
I think it's called looking beneath a statistic to the truth. Stats alone can be used erroneously and only the simple minded and lazy accept them at face value.
Wilder, at the moment has a fantastic KO percentage. What value does that really mean though, at this stage of his career? I'm sure you understand this but can't bring yourself to admit it. But if you don't, then you're beyond help. The man makes a valid point. I guess its easier for you to patronize someone than acknowledge a point that is too complicated for you to grasp. But let me lay it out for you anyway.
Fighting a lower caliber of opposition at the start of your career for a prolonged length of time will drastically increase your KO % over someone that stepped up and challenged for a world title in fewer fights. I Hope this clears up your obvious confusion.Comment

A percentage must be taken over all career starts to be a percentage , a high KO rate does not categorically mean high power , it can also mean low quality opponents .Comment
