What do you think? He fought at smaller weights earlier in his career but am I right in seeing that he's been weighing like close to or above 190 on fight night? If thats the case then I think its going to be hard as hell for him to make SMW comfortably. He's probably closer to Cruiser at this point but maybe Im wrong

you dont go down in weight as you get older. dawson needs to have some patience because ward, dirrell, & a lot of the super 6 guys will be going up in weight in the near future. -
For a while I've been wanting to see Dawson drop down to the more stacked SMW division, but there's always been this nagging unease in the back of my mind about him being drained by those 7 pounds. It's a pretty significant drop.
Dirrell, Ward and Bute could give him serious problems, whilst I reckon the rest (Abraham, Froch and Kessler) would get embarrassed. I dunno. I'd still like to see him give it a try - but only after he fights Pascal and Cloud. Finish up things at 175 first.Comment

I dont think he has any choice but to wait. There are no big names at Cruiser and I still dont see any of the SMW's fighting him anwyas. I dont think Bute would do that. I think Bute would rather wait for one of the super 6 guys and kill time by fighting guys like Pavlik before he would fight a guy like Dawson but who knows. Dawson is just in a bad spot.Comment
