If Paul Williams wants a fight with Mayweather or Pacquiao, he has to do something to make people care about him first. Fighting some bums at 147 isn't going to do that. The biggest fights he could make right now are would be the Martinez rematch or a fight with the Cotto/Foreman winner. Those are the fights that would build up his name and possibly put him in a position to fight Mayweather or Pacquiao.
So let Jack Burton get this straight.

Williams would lose to Angulo, Martinez, Dizindruk (sp?) and probably even foreman or Cotto at 154.. Its funny as hell to see the "most feared fighter on the planet" running with tail between his legs back to 147. LMFAO at what would happen to him if he picked on people his own size up at 168Comment

And even though I will concede that Pavlik screwed Williams over (yeah, even if the injury was legit) Williams still could've gotten in the ring with Pavlik if he wanted to bad enough. I think he probably could've won that fight because Pavlik's power is overrated.
Now look at where Martinez and Pavlik are at this point in their careers. People aren't knocking down Martinez's door for a fight either. But the fact that Sergio is the man at 160 provides fans with a lot more knowledge about him as opposed to Williams.
As far as in the ring goes, Williams does have a lot of heart. There's no question about that. He basically fought through the cuts against Martinez notably (and even Margarito, Quintana, and Phillips) that Pavlik tried to quit with. But it goes back to what the TS said. He looks like he has slowed down and is more hittable and so Goosen seems reluctant to keep him at 154. That is definitely the way it looks.Comment

Boxing has weight classes, not height classes... if he can make WW then he is a WW when fighting there, regardless of reach and height advantage, I get what you mean about these advantages, but thats not down to him and he might aswell use them for his benefit... work towards your strengths.Comment
