Hopkins has to live up to that...

Now Hopkins I am sure may not be worried about putting on a performance as good as Floyd...but in some ways, his #1 spot is on the line here...he has a more dangerous opponent that Floyd had in Gatti in my opinion and still has the credentials...a dominant win by knockout here will only continue to help cement his legacy...but he will have a hard time keeping that #1 spot due to the way he fights and Floyd's dominance in exciting fashion over the most exciting fighter of our time...

You can't even compare Gatti and Taylor. Gatti is an exciting B fight (I give him more credit than Mayweather did)who has long passed his prime while Taylor is a rising star. There's no way in hell Hopkins can do to Taylor what Mayweather did to Gatti. Taylor is just too good.

exactly why I said I think Hopkins has a more dangerous opponent in Taylor than Floyd had in Gatti

hopkins's will expose Taylor's inexperience at the top level. Yes Taylor can be considered as compartivly more dangerous than gatti but the outcome of the fight is going to be the same - a comprehensive victory for Hopkins.

Hopkins has never fought a legit 160 pound fighter with a strong jab, I expect youth, speed, jab to be main factors in this fight. I dont think Hopkins will shut this young bull out but I expect it to be very close and a split decision victory that could go either way.

I never understood how Bhop was p4p 1. I almost fall asleep during his fights. Like the eastman fight, wtf? boring crap. The last recent fight that was entertaining was against DLH/Tito.

Forget all this, "Taylor" or "Gatti" stuff....

Floyd Mayweather is P4P a better fighter than Bernard Hopkins PERIOD.

Hopkins isnt an entertaining fighter but he does fight the best and keeps on winning. 20 defense is insane for any era in boxing.

I believe Mayweather has fought the better opposition than Hopkins at a more competitive level, however I still wont take away Hopkins achievments.

He has held a division on lockdown for over a decade and continues to win against the best opposition the division has to offer. You cant **** on a mans credentials as a reigning champ in a division because the division is piss poor.

20 defense is insane and the record will probably never be broken.
