Pac came from one fight with diaz @ 135 and went on to fight Hatton @ 140 and now jumping to fight Cotto who is a welterweight and in the top ten pound for pound.

Pac has stretched his body to accomodate three divisions higher to fight cotto. It is only fair that he ask him a little bit leeway nowing he is jumping from division and the drawer.

Cotto last fight with clottey before pac he weighed 146lbs. Pac wanted 145lbs.

He just asked cotto to go down a pound. While pac from 140 had to go up 5 pounds. That's defintely fair enough to both sides.

As I said it's all about fair game. Choosing your opponents gloves ain't fair game.
Can anyone say hypocrite lol... I smashed this same answer that Spoon has stored in his memory yesterday.

the company I work for, Everlast, you know that um kind of big glove company was asked by Shane to design gloves for his fight May 1

we did several mock ups of what he wanted and sent him several styles for him to choose from

he initially was going to use our Mexican glove, the MX, because it had a great feel to it and reminded him of Reyes

he was not going to use Reyes for this fight his thoughts were if he was going to use a punchers glove he would rather go for our MX, with the added fact that he would be on our 100 year anniversary cover, then a company that was not going to promote him

Naazim had different ideas and had him start using Grant gloves to see if he liked them. Now Shane was told that they were going to make a special Grant glove just for him but we knew they weren't because essentially this still only have one model while we have 4.

in the end he just felt the Grants were the more comfortable glove (our MX is a pure punchers glove so it can be hard on the hands) and he felt he could still have power with them.

IMO that was a wrong assessment but in the end his choice

now I was privy to all conversations between Shane and my company, had to send plenty of gloves and equipment to Shanes camp in Big Bear etc etc

you simply have a theory and nothing more

Manny also used gloves as an excuse when Morales beat his ass.

well in Manny's defense Winning gloves really are pillows. It's a loosely packed foam they use that purely protects the hands. I have seen a pair and it's damn hard to get pure power from them

great design but they aren't for punchers. Not sure if Winning makes different versions of their gloves but the ones I have seen are made for fighters with hand problems.

There is no glove excuse given for any boxer. Had EM used the gloves Manny wanted if that was the case, he'd have beat Manny up worse in their first fight.

not for nothing but why in the world would people choose different gloves then?
