The general public buy into WW, MW and HW fights. The lower classes are just plain not popular when it comes to the casual fan. Hell, Pac was still an unknown (except for die-hards and Filipinos) until the DLH match and he was one of the biggest names in the featherweight/lightweight division.

First I don't even like pac I'm just someone who doesn't agree with you so don't assume things in that tiny little brain of yours. Second why isn't it fair to compare Floyd and Pac's PPV numbers by weight class. Fighting in certin weight classes almost guerentees that you will do better if you are a PPV draw. Historically the majority of Manny PPV fights took place in weight classes that had never had any fighters on PPV much less one that was a solid draw. Floyd fought in a lot of those weight classes and never had a PPV in any of them.

Seriously you say that I'm spinning thing but at the same time you are leaving out major deatails yourself simply because it doesn't agree with you. Stop being a hypocrite!

People pay less attention to the lower weight classes its true but Pac was not an unknown. In fact in the negotiations for the Oscar fight the fight was almost called off because Team Pac demanded a more favorable split than was given to Mayweather because they claimed Pac had more notoriety than Floyd did when he was going into the Oscar fight. Pac popularity sky rocked after the fight but he was not an unknown.

If you are actually including the Clotty fight when comparing Pac to Floyd's PPV numbers then I don't need to be bitter when I'm actually amused by your illogical and downright dumb theory.

Why wouldn't you include the Clottey fight? It did solid numbers and was a testament to Pac's ability to draw. Clottey vs another fighter wouldn't do a quarter of those numbers.

You are right Pac wasn't an unknown when he signed to fight Oscar but when you compare Pac to Floyd when they fought under 140 pounds Pac was a God Damn mega Star compared to Floyd. *** I remember Floyd fighting in a half empty empty arena when he fought Corrales in the Jr lightweight division.

Because Floyd fans try to compare it to Mosely VS Floyd which was a Maga Fight while Clottey Vs Pac was a fight where only one fighter was drawing the PPV numbers. In otherwords they are using the fights numbers to make it seem that Manny isn't that big of a PPV draw by comparing it to a fight that had two well known fighter with past PPV history.

Yeah for a long time Floyd stuggled to get attention. At least half of his fights on HBO Lamply mentions that Floyd is having issues with Top Rank about his promotion. When Floyd fought Gatti that was his coming out party. With Pac I think being in a situation against a popular fighter like MAB and pulling the upset helped jump start him. He didn't stop after that and took advantage of every opportunity.

The proper comparison is Floyd Mosley against the Pac Cotto fight. Cotto is the third biggest draw in the US behind Floyd and Pac. Its impressive Floyd and Mosley did better numbers when you consider the last time Mosley was able to get on PPV was against Cotto himself.
