The whole thing is if Floyd thinks he is worth more and has reason to make that claim what is the real issue with him trying to get what he thinks he is worth.
Now he should compromise to make the fight occur but you can't compromise without first making demands.Comment

Make Floyd come to you.
Manny Pacquaio should be getting the bigger purse. He is the Fighter of the Decade, not Floyd. You have to fight to be making demands. Manny, don't fall for Floyd trying to delay your time from the ring so he can weaken your speed to give him a chance. Also, try to set an appointment for both fighters to take blood test in the same room, so that you both are giving the same amounts. Move on with the next fight and make Floyd come to you. Stay in boxing shape. Show that your in charge. Keep in mind, he doesn't want to fight anybody else that poses a threat. Put him in firing territory. Make him step up to the plate Manny. I hope you knock this clown(Mayweather) out.Comment

Yes he is back. HBO pays for a given fight and distributes that fight via their PPV arm, based on what they think the eventual gross will be, the fighters split that gross, which you already know.
In addition to splitting that money, there are sponsorship deals in place for each fighter, sponsors pay a higher ad price on a per event basis, reference the Superbowl for example, a broader audience (Mayweather-Hatton) means higher exposure which equates to higher advertising dollars spent which factors in to what a fighter makes on top of PPV. When you see the ring painted with corporate logos (corporate sponsorships), means more money in the pot.
For example HBO factored in the market value of ODLH and Mayweather combined as an event and saw the potential for it to break records, that comes at a higher cost to HBO, apart from factoring in the market value of each participant. HBO paid more for ODLH/Mayweather than any other fight that they purchased in that fiscal year, more money in the pot means you're splitting a bigger piece of pie, so really there would be no reason for Mayweather to argue about money because one he was the A-side and two Hatton was moving up to challenge him, he was the B-side, rarely in boxing do you see a B-side opponent with sponsorship dollars coming over from Europe, along with television distribution rights, so even though Hatton took a lower split, he made more money than he would have had he fought anyone else.
A 60/40 or even 70/30 split with someone like ODLH looks much different than it would against someone like say Berto. HBO would lower their budget for a match like that, meaning less money on the table to split.Last edited by switchsouthpaw; 05-27-2010, 06:02 PM.Comment

I'm a REAL Floyd Mayweather Jr. fan since 1996 unlike like the phonys on here or the Mayweather d!ck riding heads. If this is true then Floyd Mayweather Jr. is scared of Manny Pacquiao. Floyd please fight Manny you can beat him stop actin scared and making excuses.Comment
