Well, none of the proposed opponents were very good. I mean, Roy Jones Jr, Grant and Holyfield? Holyfield is the best of that bunch and he's super shot.
The fight for the Heavyweight Championship of the world was not even shown on ANY American TV Network, so it doens't suprise me at that Adamek is not being shown on any.
He didn't get shunned when he fought Arreola. It has to do with the potential opposition. No one really cares to see a top 10 contender beat up on a 40+ year old. It won't be a major fight, just a showcase.
The Grant fight is supposed to be on ESPN, so what do you mean? He fought Arreola on HBO who won't even show Klitschkos anymore.
You're a world champion in two different divisions, on the fringes of most pound for pound lists, have only lost to one fighter in Chad Dawson and draw 10,000 fans to the Prudential Center.
Fighting on ESPN2 is an insult to such a champion.
Adamek should be fighting on HBO and Showtime and it's a damn shame that he isn't.
The reason they were chosen as possible opponents is because they wouldn't have him on in the first place. There isn't the money to make a fight against a top opponent if one of the major networks is not backing you.
Adamek was only brought in as the opponent to fight Arreola. Greenburg wanted to see Tomasz get destroyed.
How about Arreola fighting guys like Travis Walker and a semi-retired Jameel McCline live on HBO?
