Isn't Cotto technically an AMERICAN boxer

i have a question... since puerto rico is a territory of the United States, and puerto ricans are Americans, wouldn't that make Miguel.. techincally an American boxer......

just wondering if he has ever been referred to as an american boxer.... before by someone????

Yeah, Puerto Ricans are technically American, and are citizens of the U.S.

i guess u can say that...but puerto rico has it's own culture and it's own tradition of fighters. so ppl tend to think of it as being separtate.

besides in most international sports, puerto rico is allowed to have it's own teams.

I mean if you want to get technical then yea. Still and all Puerto Rico is it's own island and Cotto was born and raised there. So i'd say he's a Puerto Rican Boxer before an American boxer
