I think you seriously underestimate the wrestling skills of an elite MMA fighters, Tim Sylvia was not that good of a UFC fighter. The only chance a boxer with no wreslting background has is an early KO.

The way UFC fighters are built is different from boxers, they have alot more weight and strength in the legs and they put a different emphasis on the stance so if the boxer is hesitant he'll get his legs swept.

They are two different sports and against an elite MMA fighters like St Pierre, Anderson Silva or Fedor a elite boxer in their weight class would lose 3/3 times unless they get an early KO. Tim Sylvia really isn't that good of UFC champion.

But how can you assume a Boxer wins all the Boxing matches and the MMA guy "maybe" loses 1 MMA match? I don't understand that logic considering the best way to beat a Boxer if you're a MMA fighter is to take them down and take them completely out of their element. I give the Couture vs Toney fight that's coming in the UFC as an example, the Boxing fans here assume Randy's going to just sit there and trade with Toney. Why in the hell would he do that if he can use legs, take downs, wrestling, elbows, knees, etc? It so much more to prepare for than a Boxer throwing combination punches at you and you don't learn sprawling or take down defense in the matter of a couple months, just like a MMA fighter isn't going to learn how to defend punches like a Boxer overnight.

Two completely different sports with 2 different ways to prepare.

Of course. Just like if you put an MMA striker in the Boxing ring, he'd get his handed to him in a fast food to-go box.

lets be honest, top mma guys against boxers stand no chance in a boxing ring, while a boxer in a gayge always has a punchers chance.
