Possibly although both have a puncher's chance and would have some success with extensive training. No MMA fighter could make it in boxing.

Boxers specialize in their sport, MMA fighters often too specialize in some sport (wrestling, BJJ, kickboxing) but only have trained boxing for a relatively small amount of time.

So a Boxer loses is MMA and an MMA guy loses in Boxing. But I think we can all agree that athletically Mayweather and Pacman are head and shoulders above any athlete in MMA. No disrespect to MMA but they train for a differant purpose.
