toney is the greatest IMO! The roids were to heal injuries because it certainly wasn't to drop weight...I don't care anyway since every other sport is full of roid users.

toney > mayweather - because toney dominated his opponents so he stepped up to heavyweight. mayweather dominated but instead of stepping up
he decides to pick on guys smaller than him like marquez and even pacquiao
(who he wants to have an even bigger advantage over by blood draning him)
toney > roy - well roy beat toney. but as far as legacy. toney has
never been knocked down or out . and had fights at heavyweight
against young contenders like sam peter, dominick guinn and
knocked out evander holyfield. roy played the matchup game well
and got a belt ... but toney made a career at heavyweight ...
yeah lets hope he wins vs couture then comes back to boxing

also toney > roy since bernard wants no part of him
but wasnt afraid of roy
i mean james even stepped into the ring twice with the guy that
knocked out lennox lewis !!!!
floyd wont even step into the ring against little manny pacquiao

Floyd has fought in 5 different weight classes and he was known for coming into the ring just a couple of pounds over the limit. At LW he came in at 138 pounds, at SLW he came in at 143, at WW he came in at 146 before retirment, while at SWW he came in at 150. He's been outweighed in nearly every match until recently. I remember him fighting at WW against Zab & Baldy weighing 146 pounds while Baldy was 165. At the same exact time Pac was at SFW coming into the ring at 145 pounds so spare me that crap about Floyd fighting all little guys and other people fighting big guys.
Also, Toney has always been huge. Even when he fought at MW he use to ballon up to 200 pounds in between fights. He wasnt a little guy and Holyfield was a small old HW. Im not dissin Toney because he's a beast but dont try to downplay Floyd while boosting up others when the facts clearly state otherwise. BTW, Tase is that you?Last edited by DLT; 05-24-2010, 04:44 AM.

James Toney has been dropped b4 against RJJ and Samuel Peter II fight. The thing with James is that he doesnt train. Micky Foley said he only spars. If he was more dedicated he could easily reign supreme in the HW division cept the Klitschkos they are too big for him.

toney could have been great. he has the skills, he talks a good game but his dedication wasnt there. he never kept in shape and it became harder and harder for him to make weight until he was finally at hw. thats all his fault. based on his lack of dedication, theres no way he ranks higher than floyd all time. and i think most experts would agree.
every one tlks about how great toney is, but to me he's a big waste of talent. he could have been bigger than floyd, bigger than manny, bigger than hopkins and bigger than rjj. but he didnt keep it together.

Also, people who say Floyd's resume sucks has to be teenagers. There is no way that someone in there upper 20's would say that it ****** if they were around live and in person when Floyd was a SFW because at the time he was fighting those guys, they were all good fights. Those guys had good names in the sports and he cleaned out that division 2 times over. Most people are young now so they look back at those names and dont see the legends but they were good fights at that time. You just had to be around to appreciate them. You cant take that away from Floyd even though everyone tries to. Then he moved straight up and fought a beast like JLC. Some complained about the win but he didnt run & hide. He gave JLC an immediate rematch.
Not only that but people forget that JLC got hurt and the fight got postponed. That was cowardly Floyd's way out. He couldve easily went a different route but instead he waited for JLC and had the rematch. I remember Max on FNF's saying that if it was Floyd who had pulled out because of an injury then everyone would be saying that he was scared. Give the man his due. Its just like all the Hatton & Mosley crap. Its well documented that Floyd tried to fight Hatton in Floyd's very 1st fight at 140 but was turned down yet everyone still tries to rip him and say that he didnt fight Hatton at 140. Its well documented that he challanged Mosley to fights twice and was turned down. No one cared when that happened but anytime Mosley challanges him and Floyd hesitates then he's a cowardly ***** that was ducking Mosley. All that **** is old man. Give him his due
