Often when training where the weathers bad, treadmills are a training fighter's best friend. Who wants to go out and run in the snow and ice early in the morning?
Do boxers use tredmills much?

Treadmills certainly are more 'joint friendly'... but the mental side of running long periods is not exactly simulated on a treadmill... though more importantly is the balance necessary to run outside (not on a track), complex motor coordination comes from distance running, as well as obvious cardio benefits... the balance coordination helps the adaptability of fatigued/tired fighters... those adaptational benefits are important... air/wind resistence, etc. cannot be simulated on a treadmill...
