(Heavyweight Lineal Champs: 1876-2010) Wladimir has NEVER been one!

Who gives a **** about those belts? Why you keep bringing them up? Those 2 belts are garbage man.Comment

Im not saying that Wlad has to fight his brother, but why didnt Wlad fight the top-ranked guys when Vitali was in retirement? He had a huge opportunity and more than enough time to get it done but chose Calvin Brock and old Ray Austin instead.
So if Haye beats the Wlad, you agree he isn't the lineal champ?Comment

You are bending the rules for a guy with 3 paper titles. It is unfair to past champions who were forced to fight the best guys out there to gain there crown. Imagine if Foreman only fought Norton and Frazier and got to dodge Ali his entire career...

And, Foreman was the lineal champion when he beat Frazier. He didn't have to fight Ali to become lineal. He could of dodge Ali his whole career. It didn't mean **** in terms of linea. Ali had to fight Foreman to become lineal. If Ali dodged Foreman he wouldn't have won the lineal title.
And, that is a horrible example because, the lineal title was not vacant. Foreman was the lineal champ going in. Ali wasn't. Foreman got it by KO'ing Frazier.
Nope, he would just have to beat Wlad to become lineal. Or if Wlad retires he could fight Vitaly for the vacant lineal HW title. Or both can retire and he will fight Povetkin for the vacant lineal title.Last edited by jrosales13; 05-23-2010, 10:56 PM.Comment

So he is a SPED champion? That sounds even worse IMO. If you give Wlad a pass here, it opens up the door for future heavyweights to become lineal champ without fighting the runner up. It is a bad precedent, and it cheapens the meaning of Lineal champ. There was a legit #2 when Vitali was in retirement and Wlad did not fight him. So it was entirely possible for Wlad to become Lineal, but he did not do it.
It was a bad example and I apologize. My point in bringing up Foreman was that the 70's would be awkward if Foreman went the whole decade without fighting the #2 guy.
So he didn't get it when the Vitaly retired, so what? He got it now. It is not a bad precedent and it doesn't cheapen anything. you just being a troll or a hater right now.
Foreman could of went the whole decade without fighting the #2 guy. It wouldn't of mattered because he won the lineal title by beating the lineal champion.
And, honestly if Foreman would have never fought Ali. Nobody and I mean nobody would accuse Foreman of ducking Ali. Everybody was saying that Foreman would of murdered Ali. That Ali was done.Comment

JoeyZagz logic is as flawed and biased as always. At least JoeyZagz is faithful to his principles.
EVERY BELT has its own lineage, of course. Who cares that a belt was started in the year 18xx? Why should that make it the only lineage?
Now, if you claim that there is _only 1 lineage_ (and not several lineages) then _beating the man_ (which can easily happen at heavyweight) is far less than BEING the man (= by having worked one's way up). And everyone knows that Wlad _IS_ THE MAN.
And it's funny how JoeyZagz tried to establish Rahman's lineage by changing the rule "beating the man" to "inheriting from the man".
JoeyZagz's compilation is also moot because Wlad already beat 2 of the lineal champions: Rahman and Peter.
And the main reason why Wlad didn't win the WBC is because
- Rahman (who inherited it from Vitali) lost it to Maskaev and then
- Maskaev chose to not engage in legitimate fights for 1.5 years and then lost it to Sam Peter and then
- VITALI ALREADY CAME BACK and beat Peter
And the main reason why Wlad didn't WANT TO win the WBC is because he wanted the Klitschkos to be the first brothers who simultanously HOLD 2 belts.
I guess as soon as Vitali retires Wlad will win the WBC belt. And then one of the last points of Wlad haters ("Wlad was never heir of the mythical lineage that descends from King Arthur") will end.Comment

Wlad is the undisputed and ring heavyweight champ, I think beyond that it doesn't really matter. NO ONE can beat him right now. No one can even test him right now, and the only person that SAYS he can beat Wlad won't fight him, he'd rather worry about television revenue.Comment
