Based on Mayweather/Moley PPV doing just over 1M, and with all the 24/7, commercials, billboards, hype. Then Pac/Cotto did just as much with hardly any adds. I say both fighters is 50/50. We all know now that DLH was the cash cow all along.

i would argue Tyson is number one......he drew 1 million PPV's fighting tomato cans......ODLH needed a very good B side to get over 1 million.

PPv numbers for the Mayweather vs Mosely garnered 1.4million. 2 americans in their homeland. While Pacman who is a foreigner who fought cotto( a foreigner aswell) who is just as popular as mosely got 1.3 million ppv. So I would say based on popularity their both equals knowing pac cotto are both foreigners and getting those huge numbers. (Mayweather keeps on saying it was him not Delahoya who made the 2.4 million record for ppv now we know it was really DELAHOYA who had all the fans- 2.4million.

Note: Mosely owns the gate for number of attendance in the staple center. It shows how big a draw he is.

Plus, don't forget that there are "no" 24/7 and huge marketing, commercials for the Pacquiao Clottey fight.

And Mosely has been in more PPV fights than Cotto

i chose equal in popularity. coz everytime you say pac, the mayweather name is in the same sentence. and also vice versa.

but if i really have to choose one, it would be pac.
mayweather wins. so what? just like nacho said, it's all about exciting the fans and giving them what they paid for, pac moved the people's heart many times, by continuing to give them upsets they've never expected. i hate to agree with this but pbf is a step higher in numbers and "with-sense-fans know the real reason behind that and not just hate.
mayweather will always be rated higher in terms of skills against pac--except if they fight and pac upsets him--
but if the fight won't happen, pac will be remembered as boxer who brought wonderful and heroic memories in the boxing ring, while floyd will just be remembered as a proud undefeated master boxer.
pac has inpired millions around the globe, especially on how he has reach where he is right now and how he didn't forget where he came from and continued to be down to earth. in terms of discipline and focus they are just about equal, pac has more heart though.
