  • cruiser what?

Dude what's up with the cruiser weight division?
It's like it's gone and it's LHW and then HW. Is there any action going on there at all?
If I aren't wrong Holyfield was there no? Now that he's gone does anything happen there?

Mormeck v Bell for the undisputed title would be a fun fight and would generate some interest in the division....the winner can call out Tarver and/or Johnson, or could call out one of the smaller Byrd-like heavyweights

O Neil Bell isnt a great fighter at all. Check Bobby Gunn 14-1-1 (listed as 13-2 on boxrec.) That is the matchup that O Neil Bell ducked 2 years ago. No one will fight Gunn and he has had to fight all over just to get fights. He is the great white hope and has Tyson like punching power. Soon to be ranked in the top 10 by all the WBO, WBA, IBF and WBC. If he stops getting ducked he would easily unfiy the belts. He already has the NABC and the WBE. He would easily man handle the division and is coming for the titles. You wanna pure power check out Gunn. The site isnt completley finished but you can see a little more at www.bobbygunn.com/

Bobby WHO? Who exactly has he beaten? Why is he an elite cruiserweight?

It's cool if you want to root for your local buddies, but we're talking about world-class matchups, not club fights....talk to me about Bobby WhoEver once he has beaten someone with a pulse

          Sparred with
          James Toney
          Glen Johnson
          Roy Jones Jr
          Aaron Pryor
          Thomas Hearns
          Many Others

300-1 as an amature in Candian
Former world bare knunckle world champion

Former Candian world weleterweight, middleweight and crusierweight champ.
          Beat Dale Brown in Canada.
          Former Common Wealth champion
Ranked number 2 in Canada and has been ducked by every fighter for years.
On Boxrec a lot of the guys records he has fought arent fully shown.

As my dad manages him, Don King (who Gunn previously worked for) wants him back to bring into the crusierweight picture. NOT EVEN CLOSE to a club fighter and I guarentee once he stops getting ducked and fights big names you will completely retract what you said.

Thanks for the info, but amateur and sparring credentials + 99 cents might buy you a cup of coffee at 7-11....if this guy gets on TV and gets a W vs. someone like Kelvin Davis, Dale Brown, etc., then maybe he'll build up some pro credentials as well, but let's wait until that happens before mentioning the guy along with someone like Mormeck who has beaten a multitude of current/former champs

John David Jackson (Mosleys trainer) claimed that Gunn would be the best Crusierweight today, he compares him to Wright who never got a shot at anything. Believe me, Mormeck vs Gunn would not be a blowout like you are hinting for Mormeck. Plenty of fighters have tons of skill but never get shots. Also the only reason he is 14-1-1 and had a layoff is because he had to leave the coutnry to fight Bareknuckle in Ireland, England and Canada to make money for his family because of sick members of it. He is back now and looking for the title. He has a top prospect during his first part of his career

Cruiserweight is as exciting as light heavyweight right now. Which isn't saying much. Assuming Jones is gone...
                  the Light Heavyweight division has:

                  Tarver
                  Johnson
                  Daniel Judah?
                  Adamek

                  Cruiserweight:
                  Mormeck
                  Braithewaite (if he comes back)
                  Bell
                  Johnny Nelson I guess?

Super Middleweight isn't that great either. Its basically down to Lacy and Calzaghe. Throw in Green and Beyer for opponents. Although my Chin Checkers are coming, they're still developing.

From the looks of that last fight, I think mormeck will do bell in something terrible, and go on to knockout tarver and any of the other LW and Cruisers out there...
