theres always a risk in employing emanuel steward some fighters turn out great (holyfield, hearns, lewis, klitschko) others turn out awful (the ones you mentioned), for the record he trained cintron on paper but spend very little time training him in the gym

he also didnt really train naz that much, he spent more time training lewis even before the barrera fight

he does seem to spend a lot of time training cotto which is a good thing seeing as he spends more time on the phone than he does with his fighters these days, if he indeed improves cottos sharpness and balance cotto will be a beast again

Man right now ANYBODY is better the Santiago, but I hope Stewart takes this job seriously and is not looking for a pay check... we seen what happened between Hatton and Mayweather Sr.

Yes, it is hard to be thrilled about Stewart training Cotto when he comes out in articles saying his fighter has a 50-50 chance. It certainly makes it sound like he is less than impressed in what he sees in Cotto thus far (how other way can you take his statements?). I've always liked Ste***** honesty, but he also needs to be pumping Cottos confidence rather than downplaying his chances IMO.

What importance does it jave that he didn't such a good job with Hamed,Taylor or Cintron?

He is with Cotto and that's what matters. He said he won't change his tyle, just try to get him to the old Cotto aswell as fix that big defensive gap up the middle.

He already said he isn't going to change Cotto's style, because he didn't need to. He was just going to bring back the basics that made him so good.

I'm sold on it, but I guess we won't find out until the fight.

he did do a horrible job as far as strategy goes for margs cintron 2 and from his lack of confidence in cotto i am also beginning to question if steward is the right man to bring cotto back to prominence. its too bad roach or ****m or even nacho wasnt available i think all would be better fits
