Floyd mayweather jr vs roy jones jr.

I have seen a lot of these 2 amazing fighters fights and really there isn't much to separate them, for me roy was a much better attacking force than floyd could ever let himself be whereas floyd is a much better defensive fighter than roy could ever dream of being.

For me if they had fought i would have given the edge to floyd because unlike roy is defence is almost none penetrable, roy had a good enough defence but his defence was more due to his outstanding foot and head speed whereas floyd speed is just there and with his foot speed and fakes he is on a different level.

I really don't know who had a much better chin because roy jones was clearly past his prime when he got knocked out by both tarver and johnson but i would give floyd the edge after seeing the mosley fight and the way he managed to not go down.

I think a fighter like roy would give floyd hell because he had the speed, jab and relentless attack but floyd would find a way to start countering and set traps would roy who would then turn into shane mosley and stop throwing to may combos or still come forward and be outboxed senseless despite his speed.

Another thing who do you think had better one punch speed but also better combos speed,i give it to floyd on the one punch but roy was better at throwing bombs.

Just a fan trying to see people's opinions and point of views, both are certainly going to be hall famers.

if they were the same size, prime roy would be just too unorthodox for floyd to figure out in 12 rounds imo...

Please explain because we all saw floyd adjust and take away shane right hand in the last fight,i think roy would leave himself wide open for counter because of his pride and slightly arrogance.

If someone like bernard could make roy not have his best day when they fought for the first time then i think a prime floyd with all of his defensive and boxing intelligence would surely beat roy sorry.

Roy was the most physically gifted boxer to ever live.Floyd is second to roy's speed and reflexes.Roy didn't have to follow the conventional rules of boxing he could break every rule based on his super human speed and reflexes.

Of course but someone like roy the only time he ever faced someone with good defence in bernard he didn't look that amazing and we all know bernard defence wasn't even half of that of pretty boy floyd but also the speed of the counter punching wasn't the same.

Roy wasn't a conventional boxer because he thought he could do it all of super human talent whereas floyd is as gifted or almost as gifted but he is a much better student of the sport and has more stamina but most importantly brain to capitalize on roy mistakes.

Like people great defence always beats great offence and that is floyd for you.

Bernard > anyone Floyd ever fought, and Roy beat him with one hand.

So true, but he ended up having to pay for that.

I think you are not correct, inasmuch as Mayweather, on a pound-for-pound basis, would, if the size of Jones, be much slower, and Jones, as a lt-heavy, is easily as fast as Mayweather as a lightweight or welterweight, so, in my opinion, Jones would be able to hit him as he was able to hit everyone, and likely would KO him.

Mayweather, even if attacking, would be too slow to catch Jones, and even if he did, Jones had a good chin in his prime days. I can't see him losing.
