Moreover I can't stand when people do what you just did. You say he "arguably lost the first fight" many people say he might have so you know what he does? He rematched Johnson and DOMINATED him. Give some damn credit. He can be p4p number 1 if he had some more elite comp and fought more than once a year.
He waited until Johnson was shot to rematch him.

Did you see how easily he beat Johnson in a rematch? Chad was standing right in front of him using angles and hitting him with whatever he wanted at will while Glen a good pressure boxer could do nothing and really at most could have won 2 round though I only had him winning the 12th.

You would have a good Glen was shot argument but he beat a top 10 LHW by tko just after that boxing lesson.
Come on man. You were one of the posters that even admitted that Johnson looked shot against Daniel Judah before their rematch. If Johnson beats Tavoris Cloud impressively (which I hope he does because I'm not a bandwagon fan just because I think Cloud would be a good challenger for Dawson in the future) I could maybe be less reluctant to take what you're saying with a grain of salt. Dawson moved around a lot and used that big ring to his advantage and Mack didn't have that luxury of being able to move around in a big ring and so Johnson was able to catch up to him. I'm not saying that Dawson wouldn't have beaten Johnson in a small ring, but it did have a little bit to do with it.

I'm in no way saying that Dawson isn't a good fighter. But saying that he's going to be the next great boxer after Floyd is premateur.

Excuse me for not being impressed when "the best boxer on the planet" can't get rid of a couple of fossils.
Its funny that you say that, because if it was so easy to put them away, then how come nobody else could do it? All of Johnson's losses in his prime were very close. Dawson was the only one to truly dominate him (aside from B-Hop). If he was so easy to put away then Yusaf Mak should have been able to do the job. Same thing goes for Tarver.

As for Adamek, the argument could be made that he was drained, but he was good enough to challenge B-Hop after the Dawson fight...

Say what you want about Tarver and Johnson, but they were top 5 LHWs. While they were at the top, Cloud was nobody and Pascal was at 168 losing to Carl Froch. And again, nobody other than Hopkins has been able to dominate them like Dawson did. Once he disposes of Pascal, we'll see what happens in Cloud-Johnson.

By the way, thanks to everyone that posted, and thanks to the ones that agreed with me. Not bad for a joke thread, I guess.

I just don't like it when one fighter gets praised as the next coming of Jesus Christ without having done enough to warrant it. I don't necessarily hate Dawson even though I can't say I'm a fan. But if he had to fight the prime version of Johnson that beat Tarver and Jones we'd be reading his eulogy right now. Tarver might be a different story because of his tendancy to be cautious. But I honestly think that Dawson might've gotten KOd by the version of Johnson that fought back in 04. People on here praise Dawson as like an untouchable fighter, but he just looks that way because he fights in a division that is so weak.
