Emmanuel Steward put that into Lewis' arsenal, he really didn't use the uppercut to much effect before Manny stepped in.

Lewis actually had a great uppercut. I'm blanking on the fight but he actually has at least one, one punch KO by uppercut. Was it Botha?

The uppercut he hit Vitali with was brutal. Its amazing Vitali could continue.

What's up, rayrob? Botha, if I remember correctly, was a right hand, left hook, right hand combination that almost sent Botha through the ropes.
The Grant fight is always the one I think of when you're talking about Lewis uppercuts.

Wow, Evander Holyfield was always five times tougher a man than Mike Tyson ever was.
The uppercut Lewis hit Holy with should have knocked him unconscious....but it barely staggered him. Tyson gets hit with half that shot, & can't stand.

Sorry, I just love to rip on Tyson. Thanks.
Yes.....and Holyfield gets hit by a single righthand from John Ruiz and the only way he survives is by tackling Ruiz onto the ground after he gets back up. If Holyfield is so tough, then this must mean that Ruiz has one of the biggest punches in history.

Mike Tyson would quit against Ruiz.
Please, don't dare get in a debate about who is tougher between Tyson & Holyfield..'cause you only have Tyson's two nuts in your mouth as your argument....while I have boxing history as mine.

That Ruiz punch would never have knocked Tyson down. Tyson has a really good chin, that is why he has only been stopped by an accumalation of punches. I have allways liked Holyfield better than Tyson anyway. You only say that Holyfield has a better chin because he is the "good" guy, and Mike is the so called "bad guy". You are letting your emotions get in the way of the truth.

I'm not saying anything of the sort...I'm saying Evander Holyfield was always a tougher fighter & man than Mike Tyson.

Tyson has surpassed Sonny Liston as boxing's all-time frontrunner. He is essentially a quitter.
He may have stood up to that Lewis uppercut that nailed Holyfield....but he'd be looking for a way out shortly thereafter. Holyfield was looking to get in & work.

Tucker that right that Ruiz landed was damn sneaky! Tyson gets a little too much credit for his chin too my friend...you see he may be able to take a a single shot without going down but once Mike has been hit flush he looses all of his powers...

Sure he can stand and take a beating but once you hit him good he is done as far as giving a beating back at you. Guys like Holyfield and Gatti, yeah they get stunned but they have the ability to comeback and give just as good as they get...Tyson never ever was able to do that so who gives a **** if you can stand up after a good shot if that is all you can do and trust me Tucker I love Tyson as much as anyone but that is all he was ever able to do was simply stand up...he never fought back after getting punished a bit (and landing 1 uppercut against Douglas is nice but it was a time deal only).

well holyfield himself was not a huge puncher, but he still managed to knock tyson out, so what if ruiz knocked holyfield down, he hasn't been knocked out as many times as tyson, this argument is ridiculous.

Yes, Tyson takes punches physicaly, but he does not take punches well emmotionly I guess you could say. But we all must be clear on something.....Holyfield ain't no Prime Mercer or Mc Call. I remember Lewis saying "I was shocked that Mike took some of those punches, he took those punches like a man".
