    The Lewis Uppercut

When Tyson and Lewis fought it seemed like Tyson was able to get past the jab and right hand of Lewis enough to get on the inside and really do some damage. However, once inside the Lewis uppercut would come in and wreck what Mike was trying to do. Lewis had said several times leading up to the fight that Tyson would have to get past his jab, then his right hand, and even if he could get past them he would have to deal with his uppercut when he got inside. I think it was the wretched Lewis uppercut that was the ultimate weapon that defeated Mike Tyson. Do you agree with my asessment on this matter?

that was the only time in years that lennox actually showed up in shape. he never fought again with his heart in it.always out out of shape.

thought this one would make tyson hang it up.

wish i had the video of that fight. but what i remember is that lennox made it look easy to hit and rock tyson. yes i remember those uppercuts be quite satisfying.

another all time satisfying fight was muhummad ali/george foreman in zaire. it was nice seeing ali beat the young bully foreman.

the most unsatisfying fights was ray leonard/tommy hearns. i wanted tommy in the worst way to beat that lucky loudmouth leonard.he got all the breaks in his career.

No I think the ultimate weapon for Lewis was Tyson's freakshowness in being a human punching bag - he shouldn't of even been aloud near a ring. The guy could barely move FFS he was absolutely awful.

A shadow of the 20-year-old Tyson? - That's understatement of the century!

it was lewis's will and jab that caused the demise of spinal, ultimately..but yeah, that brutal right uppercut that could unstick a VW Bug out of the mud, didnt exactly help spinal out either

Tyson was never ready for the fight. It was all for the money.

Lewis won that fight the moment Tyson rushed him in the 1st round and Lewis landed 3 flush shots. After that, it was target practice.

Here's the best uppercut he landed:

Towards the end of his career, Lewis' uppercut was his best punch, and the best punch in the Heavyweight division:

Show clips where Lewis holds his opponent's head as he's throwing the uppercut. Heh, that should be illegal. Didn't he do that to Grant? Not that he needed to, just saying.

Lewis' holding of Grant's head was so blatanty obvious, I wonder what the hell the ref was looking at. He did it at least 6 times to great effect.

Who worked that fight? He deserves a swift kick in the nuts.

Tyson actually won that first round but Tucker you are right it was LL's uppercut that really let Mike know who the king in the ring was.

Lennox although he gave away the first round landed a glancing uppercut and Mike knew then and there that this guy has some serious gun powder.

Now to say the upperuct won the fight can be argued...how about a shot underprepared Tyson made it very easy?

It is real had to give LL credit for this win, sure it was a monster event but shopuld this even be on LL's resume for impressive victories?

He has a win over the namesake, not the true Tyson who was done long before they faught, it was a good win for Lewis but Tyson was washed up.

Those two clips of Lewis landing uppercuts...

Wow, Evander Holyfield was always five times tougher a man than Mike Tyson ever was.
The uppercut Lewis hit Holy with should have knocked him unconscious....but it barely staggered him. Tyson gets hit with half that shot, & can't stand.

Sorry, I just love to rip on Tyson. Thanks.
