Aside from May and Pac, the 147 division is wide open for Andre Berto.

Mike Jones and Antwone Smith are the future of that division.

Also Ortiz, Alexander, Bradley and Khan will grow into that division.
Henry Bruseles is the best guy Jones has ever faught, or close to it. Think about that. And looking at the Brussells fight, I'm not even sweating Jones. Alvarez will be fighting his level of competition soon. There's a reason why he's 27 and hasn't fought anyone as good as Stevie Forbes, who Berto gets crapped on for fighting. I'm not sure how good the fab 4 at 140 will become in the future, but if they fought him now, they would all lose, so...

The reason why he hasn't fought anybody as good as Steve Forbes is because all the major promoters want some kind of rights over Mike Jones. J Russell Peltz, who is Jones promoter, have refused to give up any rights to Jones. So all the other major promoters are hesitant to put their fighters in with somebody like Jones.

Also the Bruseles fight he really wanted to impress. It was his first main event televised fight. This man does not get on TV that often cuz of the promoters situation. So he fought out of character, trying to impress, and looked average. But, he sitll clearly won the fight.

Then you also throw in Antwone Smith and maybe Kell Brook. The division is not so wide open for Berto.

Not really, but he did impress me on how he survived the first round with Cotto. And, showed such composure for such a young kid. I love intangibles in a fighter. And, he showed he has them. But, I need to see more he has grown on me though. But, just give me a little bit more time.

Also last year Mike Jones was suppose to have two step up fights. And, both fighters pulled out.

Wasn't he supposed to had faught Clottey before the Pac needed a oppenent? And the fact is, he's 27 and the best dude he's faught is Bruseles. Fact is, and tried to impress, but didn't. Berto a year younger, and faught a tough southpaw 11 months after he had last faught with a torn left bicep, and people won't give Berto that excuse. Really not worried if Berto fights Jones, since he'll honestly be that much better than anyone else he's faught. Honestly hadn't seen much of Antwone Smith.

Maybe it's not WIDE OPEN. Jeseph Elegele looks pretty good:

but there's a good chance when it's all said and done that Berto will be at the top of the division in 2 years when Floyd is (Semi)retired. For the lack of respect he's getting, he has a great chance indeed...

yeah i do. i think he hits harder, sets up his shots better and has improved boxing skills since he's come back.

then again, i dont think much of berto at all.
