I'm not sure you can go on saying "absolutely" and "hands down". Floyd has incredible skills, but so have several other fighters over the years. Different skill sets as well, making it very difficult to compare. For instance I would have a fairly tough time separating Pernell's, Ali's and Floyd's skill sets.
He is very talented and skilled no doubt but to say he is the best is a huge reach. I'm just curious as to what fight/fights he has been in to make people believe that he is the most skilled?
Mosley....well Winky and Vernon looked just as skilled against Shane as Floyd did Hatton & DLH......Pacquiao dominated both of those guy in a more impressive fashion. Hell you can even make the argument Pac figured out Hatton quicker as Pac was able to time and catch him early, whereas Floyd took about 7-8 rounds to land that check hook (even though steward or Letterman kept asking why he wasn't using a hook to catch ricky coming in reckless) Corrales-dude is a good fighter but nothing better than a B class opponent and no one in there right mind would have him in the top 100 greatest fighters of all time
My thing is this; While Floyd has faced good opponents (I'm not gonna try and discredit his opponents....rather, I'm just keeping it real) Guys like Ali, Robinson, Duran and others dominated other ATG opponents. That may not be Floyd fault but at the same time it is/was much harder for those greats to look skilled and talent against the high level of opposition they faced. Just my two cents anyways...but I can't see how you can call him the most skilled when any A class fighter could look as skilled and dominate against guys like Corrales, Castillo, Hatton and others.
