Lets just hope James doesnt mess this one up.

it depends on how JT does. if he gets his ass kicked then it will be bad. but if an out of shape and obese JT dominates an MMA fighter, then it's good for boxing.

When Brock lost to Mir, it totally ruined freestyle wrestling.

Exactly what i don't understand is that there are all these diffrent types of fighting styles being used in MMA. Ju Jitsu, wrestling, Mu Tai, Kick boxing, Boxing, Sambo, and Judo. And the only people who hate on MMA out of all those styles are Boxing fans. It's kinda childish if you ask me.

          Well....the Kung Fu fans too.

          But they're not as vocal.

          They just hijack TV shows.

            Not really.

He'll just be treading in obvious territory.

I understand your point bro, but TS was asking if James Toney going to UFC good for boxing.. He means, depending on the outcome of the fight, what does all the fans of MMA will say about boxing.

For example, if he lose, MMA fans might say that MMA fighters are far better athletes and fighters than boxers and BLABLABLA.

You know what I mean? I do like both sports and I don't compare both sports, I like MMA because it's also entertaining. It's like comparing football and rugby, both sports are similar, but you can like the two.

Nothing. Because they all saw it before with Couture/Nog. Toney wouldn't be saying anything special if he outboxed/KO'd Randy.

The 118 card is shaping to be grapple heavy. Maybe Boxing fans will watch Marcus Davis, Andre Winner, Shipshack and Penn.

I don't think it does anything for Boxing because Toney's not Boxing. If he were still competitively Boxing and took a stab at MMA then that's maybe a different story. But the only reason he's going to the UFC is because he knows he'll get paid and nobody is dying to see him Box anymore. Even if people think it's a circus show, it doesn't concern Toney's paycheck one bit.

To me, I'd be interested in seeing Kermit Cintron fight in the UFC being he has a Wrestling background and is a skilled boxer in his own right in comparison to the strikers in the UFC. Toney's gonna be so exhausted after round 1.

Im an MMA fan and I for one do not think that MMA fighters are better athletes and vice versa. I think both Mixed Martial Artists and Boxers are both athletes of the highest caliber.

ppl Couture's record is 18-10. The Majority of his tko's loses came from getting punched. Toney has a great chance to win.
