If you were Freddy Roach, what gameplan would you give Pac against Mayweather?

Nice thread but nobody seems really confident in what Roach's gameplan might be. I am guessing there are no pro trainers commenting. That is a testament to PBF IMO regardless. Roach probably still doesn't know what he really wants to do if the fight gets made.

pac has all the tools to beat floyd. all he has to do is to stay disciplined. lots of movement to counter floyds speed. lots of headmovement and when floyd is in position attack with swift attacks, combos then get out. i dont see what floyd can do if pac uses his assets smartly.

manny has terrible timing---he can catch you with sneaky punches through combos like he did with cotto, but that won't work against a guy with a guard like floyd's-----people keep talking about manny's speed and him timing floyd's speed---that's a suicide mission for manny----coz floyd's best weapon offensively and defensively is his timing-----

the only style that will have a chance at beating floyd's style, is floyd's style-----that's it----manny would have to emulate floyd and confuse the **** out of him----for 12 rounds----i've heard he's been emulating floyd some in training camp though----good luck to him---coz manny's style will never have nothing more than a puncher's chance of competing with floyd's style---this i know----

Theres only 1 way to beat Mayweather..u gotta make him fight..u gotta apply smart pressure..get off 1st..have a quick jab..cut the ring off..and throw combinations...and FAKE A RIGHT have him lean back with his right hand covering the left side of his face and step left with a quick left hook to his open face..PAC can do it.

I can feel the frustration Pac will go through due to flaw in modern day boxing. We are the audience and I can bet most of us would want an exciting fight, but get ready for the chicken floyd to show up. I do not blame him, but this will be the only way to beat Pac. All of Floyd's physical advantage and his natural fighting style will cause frustration for Pac.

If I was in pac's corner, I would just say fight your fight. Try to stay midrange and throw like how you trow. If Floyd runs, set traps. Throw a slow jab, see if he will lean back to counter with a right then risk going shot for a shot. If Zab can throw that right uppercut as floyd was coming in, Pac
should be able to do it also.

To be honest, theres nothing Roach can do because at the end of the day, Manny has to fight Floyd. Roach trained Oscar during the Mayweather vs Oscar fight and OScar could'nt land any clean shots. I think OScar hits way harder then Manny, not to mention it was at light middle weight. So we know Roach doesnt have a solid plan on beating Floyd. The only thing to tell Manny is "do what you know". To me Manny and Hatton fight in a similar style, real bouncing and in and out. It make be a good fight the first few rounds but after that, good night Manny. Hope you brought your sleeping bag cuz floyd is gonna kiss you good night!
