What would you emphasize in training? How would you try to solve the Mayweather puzzle?

    Good question.

I guess first and foremost the best thing for him to do is stay in midrange at all times where he's most effective, and to keep pressing and not let Mayweather get outside on him. Don't let Mayweather get close enough to where he can clinch and dictate the fight by bullying Pacquiao around physically on the inside either. Make him hide his punches better so that they come from up under Mayweather moreso?

    Easier said than done

Roach I think will try to get Pac to set traps by making Floyd think there are openings. He will also try to get Pac punch and make contact consistently. Any contact even if its not clean, shoulders, arms chest. Just touch him as much as possible. This will be the plan early because I have a feeling as will have to be more careful as the fight goes on.

Stance-dance. Start off orthodox and throw jabs like crazy, followed right hook (switching up head/body)step in to switch to s.paw when May pulls back counter with a strait left to his sternum (ducking under May's right cross).

yea, crap like that only works in video games.

I don't know how I would fix Pacquiao's lack of defense for Mayweather's lead left hook.

I would focus on throwing more than one punch at a time, which Pacquiao does anyways. Also, tell him when Floyd puts his hands down and leans forward, throw 2-3 punches not just a jab because Floyd is getting ready for the pull counter right straight. So throw a whippy jab and follow immediately with the left straight, so Floyd can't move forward without getting hit.

Also focus on phone booth fighting. Get someone to use the shoulder roll defense when near the ropes or in the pocket and get Pacquiao to throw the lead left first as soon as he goes into the shoulder roll stance. Not a second later, literally as soon as he gets in the stance.

That's all I can really think of. Pacquiao is too limited to really make a dent in Mayweather's armor. I don't know how someone can fix Pacquiao's defense at this stage. That lead left hook is going to be hell. And the pocket fighting is gonna be a ***** too, that elbow to the face is gonna be a *****.

I'd tell Manny not to fight him. I just don't see him beating FM

i'd advise pac not to flurry and instead work with the lead straight left hand like in the oscar fight. basically, potshot floyd lol.

I heard posters suggest things that would help Manny score a bit, but I'm not so sure I've heard a rock solid gameplan for actually defeating Floyd. The goal isn't to make it a "Good fight" and for Manny to make Floyd stuggle. The goal is to defeat Floyd, by decision or stoppage. I'd hate to go into a training camp planning almost exclusively for the K.O, but Manny outscoring and decisioning Floyd is hard to picture...

Spot on. manny has defensive weaknesses but is so good at swarming in and out like a Mongoose that he has not met anyone to take advantage of him. Floyd is on a different level and will make Manny pay for his defensive mistakes.

The bad thing is that I think Roach & Pac fans have maybe a different opinion of Floyd before & after the Mosley fight. Even Dougie Fischer said that he thought Pac would win because Floyd cant hurt Pac so he would have to run & pat all night and that wont work against Pac because he throws too many punches. Now Fischer says after the Mosley fight that he thinks Floyd is capable of hurting Pac. Alot of Pac fans didnt think Floyd could keep Pac off of him but now I think alot of them do think he may be able to do that and also may be able to bring the fight to Pac & beat him in a toe to toe battle which they thought was impossible before the Shane fight.

I think Roach is having some of those same thoughts. On the flip side though I think Roach now feels like Floyd is bigger, stronger, and can do some physical things to Pac but he's regressed in speed, is flat footed, and is easier to hit because of it so Pac has some advantages
