Vargas would have love for Ortiz if Ortiz showed what he showed in the ring. Say whatever you want about Vargas but he was a true warrior. When Ortiz quit the way he did, it didn't sit well with the Mexican public.

Also the fact that he's so emotional about things in his life turns people off. I mean, we all have had tough lives, you need to use that to your advantage, not dwell on it and ***** and cry about it all the time.

I have to say, even in this last fight Ortiz looked gun shy, he looked like his #1 priority was not to get hit.

In boxing, you are going to get hit, it's how you react to getting hit that makes you a true fighter.

He probably sees Victor Ortiz as more in the vain of Oscar De La Hoya than as himself.. In reality he's more like a weaker hybrid of both of them. Vargas doesn't like those "I'm polite but I'm also tough" types.

Vargas had skills and power but he was to brave for his chin. All that skill and he wasn't smart enough to protect himself better. Self proclaimed tough guy that was even caught using steriods when he was tested after the ODLH fight.

He is jealous of Ortiz and probably also that he is promoted by Golden Boy. Vargas forgets that at one point in time he was buttered up to by his management as the next best thing and also that you can't win all your competitive bouts
