You gotta say what you gotta say to get that fight. I don't think JMM believes it himself that Pac's scared, Pac will definitely be the overwhelming favorite to win. Marquez remains the last person to be competitive against Pacquiao. This Marquez-Pacquiao encounter should end in a trilogy.

First he is the one who backed out of rematch with Pacquiao in 2004.

Second he was offered a third fight with Pacquiao and he wanted a 50/50 split.

I wanted the Valero fight to be Manny's big fight in his home country, but due to those tragic events, a Marquez 3rd fight would be just as good.
