so the onus from you is to have Margarito apologize for the actions that happened in Jan 2009. I ask why? why does it have to be an apology when, again in his eyes, he was not the guilty party involved?

in the dressing room when this all went down he kept asking his team what was being said because the arguments were in English. When someone told him that Naazim was complaining about the wraps (and no his hands were not already in the gloves) he immediately told Capetillo to re-wrap the hand already wrapped and wrap the naked hand the way Naazim wanted. That's it.

Capetillo was the loudest person about what Naazim was accusing them of. Tony told him to forget it and re-wrap.

in Nevada they provide the gauze and tape for the fighters and have a NSAC official present at all times once the fighter is in the dressing room.

CSAC allows trainers to bring their own gauze and tape.




well from a personal standpoint since I know the parties involved I think they realize they are not going to get a fair shake

but also something to consider. From the time Margarito was suspended Arum went on a tirade about CSAC and how he would never have a fight there again

and he has yet to have a fight there since. Now before you go on and on they had their TR shows in Maywood and Alameda at least 3-6 times a year so yes they had shows here on the regular.

I asked Arum at the May 8 presser and he was still adament about not fighting here and made it known

so with that do you think Margarito's odds, with his promoter no long having shows in California and spouting off in the media about them, are good he gets reinstated?

and what happens to haters like you? I mean here you are telling Tony to go to CSAC to get a hearing yet if he gets denied you will probably be the first one to give him a lack of respect even though that is exactly what you asked of him.

Not sure where to start...you seen overly aggressive in accusing me of being a hater and close-minded, yet I was explaining how my opinion could change in this situation. If I'm a hater because I am su****ious in this situation, then what does that make 99% of the boxing media, or pretty much everyone besides Team Margarito and his die-hard fans?

Thanks for the tidbit about the NSAC, I didn't know that and I wonder why that issue wasn't pushed a lot more by Top Rank/Team Margarito when people started declaring that he MUST have cheated vs. Cotto (which I never did, by the way, so if I'm a hater, is there a stronger term that encompasses that crowd?). That item seems to preclude much of a chance for them to try the same thing.

Your assumption about me "being the first one to give him a lack of respect," is just plain wrong. I said if he got a hearing and made his plea for reinstatement there I would give him the benefit of the doubt, I didn't say that would be the case only if they reinstated him. If they denied him, at least he tried. That would mean something to me.

I would hope the CSAC would be a little more mature than a promoter who throws a fit by boycotting a state because they suspended one of his big-name fighters. Arum is not Margarito, so one would hope that they would see through that and work with the individual at hand, not all his associates.

But my point is, since traditionally the states will honor a suspension of another state in a case like this, what state is going to say, "No, you don't have to apply for re-license in California, just come fight here." Tennessee staged Lewis-Tyson when Mike couldn't get re-instated in Nevada, but they didn't have a commission at that time. Texas did it for Valero, but that was a medical suspension, so a completely different type of case. Other than that, I can't think of any examples...certainly not in a situation like this.
That's why I'm skeptical of him getting a license.

You said he is adamant that he didn't know but understood that he has to take responsibility for what his trainer did...if that's true then my opinion is he shouldn't have a problem saying that to the CSAC and presenting a case for reinstatement.
