By Ronald C Charles: During an interview with CBS radio Floyd Mayweather was asked about the particulars of a possible Pacquiao bout. Due to legal implications Mayweather stated he could not discuss the finer details of pre fight drug testing, but did say Drug testing by (Anti-Doping Agency) is non-negotiable, if Pacquiao does not take the test, there will be no fight.

“I understand Pacquiao not liking having his blood taken because, frankly, I don't know anyone who really does. But in a fight of this magnitude, I think it is our responsibility to subject ourselves to sportsmanship at the highest level. I have already agreed to the testing and it is a shame that he is not willing to do the same. It leaves me with great doubt as to the level of fairness I would be facing in the ring” Mayweather told ESPN.

When pressed further on the finer details Mayweather would not comment on earlier reports that suggested he was demanding a 60/40 split in his favour. However, he did specify his desire to be second into the ring on the night, a privilege usually reserved for the belt holder. Mayweather’s last fight against Shane Mosley he refused to pay the WBA sanctioning fees and no belt was on the line.

Mayweather was informed it’s Manny Pacquiao who currently holds the WBO welterweight title and in customary fashion, it’s the title holder whom makes their way to the ring last, Mayweather replied “I’m not interested in any title, do I want the fight? Yes, do I want the title? No.

The indication from Mayweather's comments would suggest he is open to negotiating ring and glove size, but stood steadfast as stating testing by the Anti-Doping Agency is non-negotiable.

“In my last fight with Mosley for the first time in the sports history, the world knew for sure both fighters were clean and on a level playing field, allowing the best man to prevail”.

“The sport of boxing is a dangerous sport where fighters have lost their life’s and family’s ruined, to put down a man who is trying to do the right thing does not make sense, most critics have probably never competed in the ring.” Said Mayweather

In terms of why manny lost the morales fight, he needs to make up his mind. After the fight he said it was because he didnt have reyes gloves, then it was because of his socks, then it was because he gave blood and now all of a sudden he is superstitous. I'm just so confused now, I dont know which lie to tell my friends when I am explaining to them why mayweather is ducking pacquiao.

It seems you have made up your mind as well. I know what "a few days" means. It doesn't mean a month unless you're a pothead. We're arguing semantics here, let's use some common sense.

• Pacquiao says he can only be tested 30 days before a fight and anything closer will weaken him.
• Video surfaces of Pac getting blood drawn 24 days before he smokes Hatton.
• Pacquiao now claims he can only be tested 24 days before a fight.
• Video surfaces of Pacquiao getting blood drawn 19 days before he blitzes Clottey.
• Pacquiao now claims he can only be tested 17-19 days before a fight.

I never heard of the Pacquiao personally claiming it HAS to be 30 days or has to be 24 day, their just a numbers his team have generated for the negotiations.

You tell me your reasoning from the jump 30 days, to 24, to now 17 days? If Manny was is so dead on 30 days why make the compromise? I mean, that's a lot of valuable juicing time.
And if Floyd was so dead on testing up to the fight why make the compromise of 14 days?

You talk about these videos "surfacing" like they were kept in a vault only to be released on youtube to expose Manny, it ridiculous, you kind of remind me of those 9/11 conspiracy theorist.

I've come to the reasoning that Floyd is either trying to get a physiological edge over Manny in asking for the testing knowing Manny has problems in giving blood close to the fight, a excuse which pre-exists for 5 years, whether its physiological or physical. Or its just a cope out.
I just find it hard to believe as soon as Manny is mentioned, hes on PEDs and OST is a must. Ok maybe Floyd after his break came back with a renewed perspective, every fighter he faces must go through OST, yet he never asked Marquez to go through it. Or maybe he just suspects Manny, but I can bet if he does not fight Manny whoever he faces will have to go through OST, is that because he suspects them as well? I mean what are the chances, 40 fights and nothing, then 3 come along at once.

I don't look at it as a fighter getting his own way any more than I look at it as Manny getting his own way for asking for a $10m penalty that has never been done in ANY fight. I just see one fighter asking for tougher tests and I applaud him. Do I think his motives are selfish? Absolutely. But sometimes the right message comes from the wrong guy. And the message is one every fan should get behind. You know, I don't see a lot of people talking about PEDs and whether they are healthy; right or wrong, etc. But I do see people doing their homework now and that's a great thing. I've been studying steroids and its effects for nearly four years. So when a top athlete asks for more stringent tests, I'm all for it. And when another athlete is ducking them, I must question his motives. It's not an issue of Floyd or Manny getting their way at all. And I think it's time people stopped looking at it like that.

This completely went over my head before,i was too tired to take it in, but what exactly are you studying? I myself am in my first year of studying sports sceince & medicine so am intrigued by this.

So what is it exactly are you studying? I've never seen or heard of a undergraduate course directly focusing on Steroids. I must assume you are doing your doctorate as it is a specific subject area, so you must have vast knowledge in the area?
You just don't seem to be someone who you has all this knowledge but never uses it to teach and educate people on the subject, scientifically.

Also given your field of study you must have been championing the testing well before Floyd even brought the subject to attention?
