  • Comments Thread For: Valuev Could Retire if His Career is Not Straightened Out

Former heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev is still not sure about the date and location of his next fight. Trainer Alexander Zimin tells Golzka that his fighter is tired of sitting around and may even retire if he continues to do nothing but sit around. Valuev's co-promoter Don King is speaking with Top Rank to make a deal for a final WBC eliminator bout with Odlanier Solis. Zimin said the fight would happen on June 5 but now that date is off and they have no idea when the event will take place. He thinks the fight won't happen until at least the fall. Doing nothing and sitting around is his own fault, he could have fought Vitali for 2.5 million, instead he decided to price himself out of the fight.

good...the guys waaay to slow...he should have accepted the vitali fight offer even if it was only for £1 Million atleast since this guy cannot move fast , he tires out too easily

I think Don King is the problem here. He was too selfish to let Valuev have a good payday against Vitali...

He ruins most of his boxers nowadays by putting them on the shelf, he seems to not be willing or able to set up the fight cards anymore.

I feel sorry for Guillermo Jones, who has wanted to defend his title for two years now, but King won't make the fights for him.

              Valuev needs to retire

Valuev needs to retire because he's not into the sport for the right reasons. You say you want to be a champion again, but when you are offered another shot at a title you turn it down. Not to mention that the amount is more than you have ever made for any other fight? Sounds like you're a little scared to lose again to me. But that's just my opinion. Valuev just pack it in if you're going to waste the fans time.

and this hairy monkey and his team wanted $4 million for the Klitchsko fight? How the crap did they turn down $2.5 million? What goes around comes around, let him retire and hunt rabbits in the deep forests of Russia..feel sorry though for the scared rabbits with this creature running after them
