This is what gets to me! There are 115 years of fighters, full of many, many great fighters. Also full of many intelligent fighters, thousands of them. I know it's trendy for new people to the sport to want the latest to be the best. I try to over look it but there is so much of that here, I am sure if any great fighter from 15 years ago, 30 years ago or any other time in boxing they would laugh at this and many of these "I love him so much threads".

Mayweather is great now, ok, but there have been many, many greats every decade since man first entered the squared arena. To see that nearly 50% think he is the smartest ever, or the best ever is sad. Tell me it's not what the intelligence of the NSB has become!

Floyd is a smart one....as well as B.Hop, cats don't like to give props outside the box tho'.....but since we here to talk about Floyd AGAIN....YES!!, the dude has an ABOVE average ring IQ.....but to say he's THE smartest is a lil' out there imo....I know Pea was a clever mofo....dude was a MASTER of the science as well the great Azumah Nelson aka "The Professor"....alot of smart boxers have blessed the squared circle...ALOT!!

Ooh I forgot about "The Professor" man that guy was great. Sweet Pea did the most with the least IMO, gnarley speed but when you look at greats you think of their power and KOs but not with Sweet Pea, it was nice try 12 punches straight of misses. He didn't have any power yet decisively won against all time greats and should have got the nod against a few others.

Floyd is incredibly ring intelligent but anyone who blows over 50 million dollars and owes the government cash with access to some great paper pushers(lawyers and accountants) isn't very smart.

Not far above the rest but up there with them for sure. With Robinson, Pep, Leonard, Ali and possibly Whittaker.

He's a very smart boxer but personnaly I would rate, Robinson, Pep, Benny Leonard, Ali, Locche, Jersey Joe Walcott, Charles, Lopez and maybe Sweet Pea above him / with him.

Sure there's alot more aswell.

I disagree. All of those guys were very intelligent fighters but people need to look at his record and give him more respect. Bernard Hopkins was a great fighter in his prime but he has lost on 5 occassions. He was one of the best middleweights but not the best of his era.

To me Floyd is the best of this era
