Part of it is that Islam is not a race so it's not racism. Now, I don't know if race (as well as hostility to ******s) has something to do with him not getting any love by the British fans.

Someone mentioned that Prince was loved by the Brits so that takes out religion and also coming from Pakistan. (Yes I know Pakistanis aren't Arabs.) Another mentioned Prince being pre-9/11. Dude. War factors into perceptions of other people. Germans weren't well like in either WWI or WWII and they were the same race and religion.

Perhaps the citizen uprising in Egypt and Turkey will help sway some opinion in the West - that not all ******s are irrational idiots demanding that sharia and blasphemy laws be enforced.

Yes. I mentioned in my post that I know Prince is not from Pakistan. But I don't think that bigoted British fight fans would support an ****** arab but would shun a ****** Pakistani.

The bottom line is that the fans who like him, like him because he is British, in spite of his terrible personality and borish behavior.

Those Brits who do not like him, don't dislike him because of his race. They dislike him because he is a loser who disappointed their misplaced faith in a mediocre boxer. British fans love their athletes until they lose and then they do an about face and **** on them. White - Black - Arab - It doesn't matter to British fans. If you are a winner they will support insufferable ****s like David Haye - but then when you lose expect to be mocked like Audley Harrison and Enzo Mac.
What a load of rubbish. If anything British sports fans refuse to turn their back on their sportsmen, they still turn out to see Audley Harrison and followed the likes of Henman and Murray through years of Wimbledon failure.

My god (no pun intended). I've never heard so much crap in all my life. I'm not gonna waste time looking at peoples history or previous posts i'm just gonna say it how i see it. Amir has done massive things for British boxing and I've supported him since the Olympics. Are you saying that we respect Audley Harrison more because he's not a ******?
There has been problems with racism wherever you go and I am happy to say that it's getting less and less each year. Don't believe the press mate, England is not a racist country. There are racist elements in our society (albeit the small minority) but where isn't there?! In fact the worst case of large scale racism I ever saw personally was in the States when I travelled across the entire country and again, that was just one incident (albeit very bad) proving racisim is in the minority, not the whole frickin nation! Kahn may have haters in this country but I can assure you that the main reason would be because of his boxing style and record, not his fu*cking religion.

Naz had his haters, but this was pre 9/11. There are now groups called the EDL and BNP who target ******s by saying they want them out. Pre 2000 there were NFL etc.. who were just racist to anyone not white.

All the people here saying Khan isn't a good fighter are idiots. He's only lost 3 times, and to be honest he was robbed against Peterson. Prescott and Garcia beat him fair and square. Having said that, he's beaten a lot of great opposition and done it well.

Look what Khan did to Judah, look at the trouble Judah gave Garcia.

Khan finished Malignaggi when Broner couldn't.

Khan is a fantastic fighter, always brings excitement and will give his all. When I returned to England last year everyone I mentioned Khan to (mostly white) said they didn't like him and couldn't give a good reason why.

If Khan was white he would be a superstar, I truly believe that.

I truly believe you are ******ed.

Look at British boxing - the fans are clearly infatuated with their black fighters and couldn't care less about the white ones.

They nuthugged David Haye damned near to death and love Derek Chisora who is a world class piece--o-shat woman beater. However Carl Froch had to win about 10 world title fights to get himself a decent British TV deal.

Currently the Brits are all excited to ride the jock of their newest black hope Anthony Joshua. He certainly has more Brits talking about him on this site than undefeated world champion Nathan Cleverly. And that's with the former never having fought and the latter defending his title in the short term.

Now if you have said "If Amir Khan were black..." that would have made at least a little bit of sense.
